We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

IrelandI received information about entering the building after I arrived, which was a little stressful. We were missing a set of linens, a situation which was quickly resoved. In general, our stay would have improved with more communication and a binder with information about the various appliances, the local shuttle and it's timetable and the location of remote controls. My kids spent tons of time looking for the remote until we finally called the host to locate them in the apartment unseen on the far side of the couch. We struggled a bit with the local shuttle, as the timestable was not availble and the stop is not in the central location where all the other shuttles convene - information about the shuttle should have been provided by the hosts. Another difficulty was the over, we had issues with the induction oven and it took us some time to sort out how to use it. A brief instruction manual for locating key items and using large applicances would have been useful.
The apartment was beautiful, clean and well situated.

United KingdomThe owner took 20 EUR off my deposit as, despite cleaning the apartment before leaving, there were a few crumbs on the floor and a few drops of water in the bath. We left in the morning of 21st December, but I did not hear anything from the owner regarding my deposit until 25th December. It has taken a further 14 days to receive my money back. No apology has been offered. The deposit was requested by bank transfer in advance of our stay and not cash on arrival as advertised. The apartment does not have two bedrooms. There is one bedroom, a sofa bed in the living room and bunk beds in the entrance way. The code we were given for the key box was incorrect and we were left the wrong sized bed linen. I didn't complain about these small issues but unfortunately the owner did not afford me the same courtesy.
The apartment was clean and the kitchen was well equipped.
