Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandOn the downside, our room faced a lawn where a celebration was taking place, and we were woken up at 7 a.m. by loud children — not the quietest spot. The pool area was also quite noisy due to children, so it was difficult to fully relax. Dinner was fine but not exceptional, and we found the price a bit high for what was offered.
We had a lovely stay at Château Des Briottieres. It’s a beautiful and atmospheric place — you can truly feel the care and soul invested into maintaining the château. The interiors are tastefully decorated, with great attention to detail. A special thanks to the owner for his warm attitude, engaging conversation, and valuable travel tips for exploring the region. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Still, our overall impression is very positive. This is a charming place with a rich history and special atmosphere — definitely worth visiting.

CanadaWe loved everything there!
This hotel sets in an 18th century chateau, with numerous lands surrounding, the three of us had had a bicycle tour to explore there. The chateau itself was so beautiful and well maintained, The furniture and deco are all antique. The young host told us that he's the 7th generation running this hotel. We booked dinner and the next morning breakfast, both meals were very good, especially the buffet style breakfast, lots of food choices, all fresh and delicious!

NetherlandsExcellent and exceptional service. The family running the Chateau knows the art of fine living and dining. The appointed bedrooms in the chateau are as if in fairy tale - super comfortable beds, amazing pillows, great decor. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, delicious and an amazing experience. We feel very fortune to have been able to stay for the second time in the dreamy property. The silence and peace is to be treasured.....and if gazing at stars is your thing .....a dream! Our children enjoyed the tennis court and swimming pool to its maximum. Dinner time was a French dream! Merci!

NorwayI am very impressed by how the castle is maintained, with respect for traditions and with attention to details. We stayed in the annex, and were lucky to have it for ourselves. What a luxury! The garden, the swimming pool, the tennis court, everything was beautiful and in perfect condition. We also enjoyed a very good breakfast. Thank you for a very special experience!

Absolutely incredible place...beautifully kept expansive grounds with a working orange grove, multiple lovely buildings set in the French countryside. This is a completely renovated chateau with most of the original decor but with all the modern conveniences. The host, Arnaud, is very welcoming and accommodating and the breakfast and dinner are not to be believed. We booked this place not having any idea what a find it would turn out to be. Bed unbelievably comfortable, room super quiet...I could go on and on...

The place is magnificent, elegant and very well kept. The owner as well as all the staff made us feel comfortable and at home. The room that I stayed was in the Chateaux, fantastic view over the grounds, big bathroom and all that you need, from a small fridge, iron, to a hair dryer. The dining room and the way they set the table for dinner and breakfast were informal with an exquisite elegance touch. Food was great! Thank you Arnaud and all the staff!!
