Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe coffee and tea area in the lounge was not managed so when we went to get coffees in the morning there was none available. Would be better to have them available in the room because it was a long way to the lounge!
Being a chateau gave the premises a degree of opulence which was nice.

United KingdomWe stayed in the L’Orangerie which is perfect if travelling with three children. We had space to do our own thing but delicious breakfast provided every day to each on our terrace. The swimming pool was one of the best - deep at one end so great for teaching kids to dive and no one in it! The hotel manager was very kind and welcoming. The chateau itself was beautiful and the surrounding countryside and wildlife stunning.

United KingdomNothing. Everything was perfect!
Stunning place to stay! The property is gorgeous and extremely comfortable. The reception was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast also available on site which was nice. Beautiful salon for relaxing, reading, piano or games. We were slightly early to check in but were able to leave our luggage and come back later. Only 8 mins drive into the main town area.

United KingdomA restaurant (either exclusively for / not for residents) would be a wonderful addition to this very special place. The beds and linen were very comfy but the pillows could be smaller and a little more forgiving.
The Chateau is quite simply a wonderful part of French history. To enjoy the various rooms, amazing grounds and the chateaus splendour as the many previous residents have done is very special. Lauren and the team were helpful & gracious and the housekeeping team did a wonderful job. Breakfast was always delicious and we have all gone home a little heavier! The modern features make the stay luxurious but the history make the stay special.

United KingdomNothing!
A stunning property, we felt so welcomed and at home. The pool was a welcome treat in the hot weather and the outdoor kitchen with everything we needed was perfect. Taxis are hard to secure in the area so we bought food and wine from local producers and sat in the garden for dinner and enjoyed the views.

United KingdomOnly inconvenience we had was no tea and coffee making facilities to the room, a small fridge would be of huge benefit too especially with the heat experienced this summer
Full of character and charm, set within a tranquil location. Great outside pool, supporting self catering for outside picnicking and a fridge to keep the drinks cool.

United StatesThe breakfast could've included more substantial food. It would've been nice to have coffee/tea in the room, although we figured out on the last day that there was a mini fridge and espresso machine in the lounge room that we weren't told about.
This was a beautiful place to stay, and felt cozy and restful. There were so many things that made it extra charming- the decor around the chateau, the spaces to roam around, the room was comfortable and spacious, bath tub, quietness, and the horses on site!

United StatesWe stayed in the Oragenrie, which is very large, has a common area and kitchen, and was perfect for our family of four, though it could host 5. The breakfast was delivered to the room every single day and it was, hands down, the best breakfast we've had (warm croissants and bread, orange juice, butter, etc.) The huge bathtub is a must see/try and the wonderful high end little touches (high quality soap) enhanced our stay. The Castle is breathtaking and we have felt pampered by the amazing staff. The pool looks great, but we did not try it, as it was a little cold when we visited. There is an area around the castle and we loved the three horses.
