Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Beautiful chateau, we stayed in one of the more modern rooms and it was 5* Lovely breakfast and we also ate at the Bar (Rouge) which was delicious. Sadly we didn’t get the chance to have dinner in the restaurant but we’ll definitely return next year as it looked great!

AustriaWe rented the Chalet which was quite dated. Also there were some basic maintenance and housekeeping issues (broken light fittings, table with loose legs and child's drawing on it, not cleaned under the sofa bed, mismatch of tableware..)
Beautiful setting and relaxed atmosphere. Very quiet. Dinner was delicious. Comfortable beds and nice breakfast.

SwitzerlandThere are still some small renovations needed, but guess this is normal for most historic chateau style hotels. It was the first time we stayed in such hotel, we don't really have ground for comparison.
The location and hotel buildings are amazing, very quiet and well kept grounds. Plenty of parking spots with nice garden. There is a pretty large pool with sundeck and next to the chateau a garden with beautiful views. The chateau has also an interesting history, worth exploring.

FranceNot much not to like. We stayed in late October in the Fall season.
We travelled as a family of 4 and stayed at the quadruple room in the Chateau de Razay, which was perfect for our family. We stayed 3 nights to explore the famous Chateaux de la Loire and visit the Beauval Zoo. The room is large with very confortable beds, in a very quiet and charming location, away from urban noise. The breakfast was superb and served by pleasant staff. We also had dinner at the hotel, which offers an exquisite and original cuisine from the "terroir" with local produce. We highly recommend this hotel, very well locate to explore the Loire valley's castles.

United KingdomWe loved everything apart from the drain smell in the bathroom which was very strong and even though we opened the windows through the night we could still smell it.. this needs to be addressed and also maybe a oil vaporiser plugged in would help and scented candels as was such a shame as everything else was wonderful.
Beautiful location as was the tranquility. Lovely grounds. The suite was very comfortable and very stylish, the bathroom was stunning and large with beautiful walk in shower and huge windows looking over the grounds, also lovely bath products for our use. Very comfortable bed and high quality bed linen. Nespresso machine fab! The chateau is being beautifully renovated and the owners were lovely. We had the tasting menu in the evening which was exquisite and amazing value for money and breakfast was equally lovely with high quality products and so much choice.. the table wear was beautiful and very high end quality.

United KingdomShort notice booking as another had let us down and we were aware no restaurant. Lovely place helped by super weather. Owners friendly and helpful and room was top notch. Plate of meat and cheese more than adequate with a rather nice red kept me more than happy. A lovely night for two weary bikers.

United StatesThe chateau de Razay was so beautiful and our newly remodeled room was amazing! We had an exquisite dinner and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Mary/Marie was so helpful and sweet. We were pleased that we were able to get a room in the chateau because we had accidentally booked a tree house/cabin and were were so happy the owner was able to accommodate us! We highly recommend this chateau, we were treated like Royalty!

Beautiful Chateau in the lovely French countryside! We were so kindly offered a free upgrade. Our room was huge and bathroom was fantastic! The view (with deer, a donkey, and a horse grazing in the field) from both the bathroom and bathroom was SO cool. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn’t use the pool but it looked great. We took a nice, peaceful walk around the wooded property. Nice, big patio in the back, we enjoyed sitting out on that evening.

This is a fabulous place...First stayed on the way to Spain this summer, and it was so good we stayed on the return journey. Fantastic loacation, fabulous and sympathetic restoration of the château, lovely rooms with very good beds and quality linens and towels. The food is sublime, and the wine list also, and the owners and staff are delightful. The grounds are beautiful, and the swimming pool is a lovely addition to an amazing place to stay.

An absolute diamond of a place located in beautiful grounds and a lovingly restored property with delightful hosts and staff. The food is excellent and worthy of a Michelin star! It is a tasting menu with fantastic local wines, so if you want something more substantial, plan ahead. Breakfast is also excellent.

United KingdomA lift to avoid carrying up the luggage would have been ideal, but given the age of the château, it is only logical that there isn't one.
