Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur room was obviously an accessible one. Unfortunately, this meant that the the shower was designed for the less able and set at a low height. The only way to use it was to hold it in one hand while standing or to sit and shower. This however did not detract from our stay and was only a minor issue.

NetherlandsAll the staff was very kind and welcoming, yet not all of them where able to speak English. We tried speaking French a bit, but our French is not fluent which made it difficult to communicate sometimes.
We loved our room and the antique yet stylish interior. We booked a basic room but still had a balcony and pool/garden view, which was fantastic.

United StatesWe were there on one of the hottest days of the year so the pool was a welcome amenity. Unfortunately, the AC units in the room cannot compete with those temperatures. The staff did provide a fan which made made the night bearable.
Beautiful setting on the north side of Paris. Easy access to CDG. Rooms are comfortable and the staff was very welcoming. Dinner on the terrace was delightful.

NetherlandsThe building does feel a bit outdated and could use some touch-ups here and there. Unfortunately, our bed wasn’t very comfortable—it was quite firm and small, and the pillows were also on the smaller side. While the restaurant served tasty food, it felt somewhat overpriced. And for a four-star hotel, it was a bit disappointing that they had run out of several menu items on Easter Sunday
The standout feature of this place was definitely the friendly and helpful staff. The reception team was incredibly welcoming and assisted us with getting around, while the bar staff worked tirelessly. Despite being clearly understaffed—just two people managing everything on a busy public holiday—they did their absolute best to serve everyone with drinks and dinner. The restaurant offered high-quality, delicious food that really impressed us. The building itself has a lot of charm, and the garden is spacious, beautiful, and wonderfully peaceful.

NetherlandsWe couldn’t get a table at the restaurant, it was noisy and the staff were only interested in the 2 events going on. I requested gluten free bread at breakfast and, after 20 minutes, again requested it. When ir came, I was already finished and had to leave. Room was very clean but very outdated.
We love staying here because it’s very green, peaceful and has a fabulous restaurant. It was our 5th visit

AustraliaWe were in France and not in a regular tourist spot so reading menu was a bit difficult most staff did have some english and did try very hard and we appreciated their effort sometimes we felt a little bit of attitude but maybe that it just a culture thing?
Was an enjoyable quiet stay, not a lot to do, it was the perfect unwind to the end of a Europe vacation. English was a little hard we were not in a usual tourist spot, we appreciate the staff for their efforts. We are in France! Our room was clean and comfortable the chateau is beautiful.

United KingdomWe felt that charging 35 Euros for our small dog to stay too, was excessive. Had we seen this charge in advance, we would probably not have made the booking. The charge of 28 Euros each for a hamburger as part of the bar menu, also seemed a lot - a shame, as this otherwise a good place to stay.
This was a very comfortable place to stay with easy parking and good grounds to walk in. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was peaceful. The breakfast was superb with a vast range of choice and some absolutely delicious food in a beautiful room.

United KingdomThe hotel accommodates pets, but there are now indoor/undercover facilities where you can have a drink with your pet. You can sit on the terrace, which is fine in the summer but no hood for the colder months. Also no breakfast tea in room.
