Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Our group of friends stay in this family running B&B in the castle was really outstanding. Clean, nicely decorated rooms, excellent views. Great pool to relax. Hostess Valerie is so pleasant, helpful and fully engaged with guests. Breakfast is very tasty, freshly prepared for reasonable price. Owners are winemakers. So you can have a great journey into the history of family winemaking, accompanied with wine tasting. You can purchase house wines there. One worthy of attention in a hot days - sparkling natural fermentation wine!

United KingdomWe loved meeting Philippe and Valerie, and the chateau was straight out of a fairytale! Valerie was so welcoming and made sure the breakfast was delicious. Philippe answered all our silly questions about the wine! And the wine itself was amazing! Our room was beautiful and very comfortable, had all that we needed. We loved the dogs. Was a wonderful stay and we will be back, we’ll also recommend to friends and family! Thank you! Merci beaucoup!

United Kingdomto be honest, nothing comes to mind. full of character you would expect. great welcome - thank you
The house is splendid and has an amazing welcome as you approach. views over the valley behind farm the vines from the Chateaux that sits elevated revealing panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Breakfast, continental, was more than adequate and had plenty to choose from and options for cooked eggs, and a great welcome from the staff, all makes a perfect 10. Room quality was very good, clean and keeping the characteristics of the house in great order and and the host has modernised with new bathrooms and decor. Beds were comfortable and bedding was on point. good score here, another 10 there is a balcony on the first floor that has a table and chairs which is great for a cup of tea or coffee in the morning or a cold beer or red wine of the evening. there are only 4 guest bedrooms in this beautiful house, so its not overcrowded. There is plenty of room downstairs and has a pool and seating area around the garden if you need them.

United KingdomRoom was very comfortable with a super view. The breakfast was excellent and served by a staff member who was very welcoming and polite. We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay that included a very informative tour of the vineyard and wine cellars - we took the opportunity to stock up on some of the excellent wine that we tasted.

United KingdomNothing - except the weather which the Chateau had no control over!
The chateau is wonderful and has been renovated with great care to maintain authenticity. Breakfast served by Love was excellent and she was very thoughtful, caring and efficient too. Situated on a hill looking down over the vineyards, the chateau is the perfect place for an away from it all getaway, yet close enough to visit Bordeaux’s sights. There is a walk from the Chateau through the vineyards with helpful information boards and we were fortunately enough to be there when the first grapes of the season were harvested. There is a small rustic wine bar at the Chateau which serves a selection of the wines produced with nibbles. Bourg is a lovely small town to meander around

United KingdomOnly stayed 3 days!
Magical property- beautifully appointed. Feels like you're staying in the owner's family house as their guests- their hospitality is superb. Fantastic breakfasts too. They only serve breakfast, but there's some great restaurants in Bourg. Also we had a great time buying in some charcuterie, bread and cheese and then had lovely supper in the grounds having bought some of the excellent wines from the Chateau! All in all a wonderful place to visit.

All the staff were incredibly nice, caring, and welcoming. The location was absolutely stunning and our room had a beautiful view and balcony overlooking the vineyards. The breakfast and wine bar were both great. They also have a beautiful and very sweet dog roaming the grounds and always looking for pets or to accompany you on walks. We were blown away by the experience.

United StatesIt's a farm, so there are some bugs. We didn't love that. I was just a mild nuisance though. None of us ever got bites, and I'm usually eaten alive by bugs. There is no a/c either. It was rather cool at night, so it wasn't a big issue. I understand that a/c isn't as common in France as it is in the US, plus the property has been passed down for generations. This was a small price to pay for a lovely experience.
Our stay at Chateau de la Grave was amazing. It's a very special place with a lot of activities to do and things to explore. The best bonus is that it's a winery! We had a bottle of wine delivered to us every night. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was delicious, fresh, and very reasonably priced. There are also cats, horses, sheep, and dogs on the property. They keep to themselves unless you engage with them. We happen to love animals, so interacting with the animals was a treat for us.
