Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe dining room interior was dated and a bit tired. It was the only area of the property which let it down.
Beautiful old property which has been sympathetically restored and furnished in a tasteful but comfortable way completely in keeping with the property. The swimming pool was the icing on the cake.

Conveniently about half way between Calais and Cote d’ Azur if stopping off. 15 mins off autoroute . In blissful quiet village in midst of farmland ( families playing boule 💕) . Country house family feel, cool French style interiors . Staff were all exceptional. Very relaxed. Lots of dogs 😄 Didn’t really think about dinner and then was blown away by one of the best meals we have ever had ( and we eat out a lot across the world) . Hadn’t realised the restaurant had a Michelin ⭐️ but they certainly deserved it . Every morsel was a work of dedication to the art of cooking . Flavours/texture sublime . My God it was exceptional and not that expensive Will definitely be returning . Well done everyone Easy parking . We had a Range Rover plus trailer . Easy turning Didn’t have time for Spa/swimming pool but looked cool

ItalyThe bar prices felt a bit on the high side for local wine. For example, a glass of champagne was €25, and red wine ranged between €22–28. These are prices you’d normally expect in 5-star hotels in Milan or Paris, not in courban, especially considering that are all almost local wine.some details could be fixed, for example in our room in the bar tube the shower head was broken and the water was going everywhere. Ah yes also the half bottle of drappier champagne in mini bar was 45 euros
Food in the restaurant was very good, room was big, quite place if that’s what you want

United KingdomAlthough it was exceptional, and our children behaved very well, it would have been good to have a more casual dining option for families, even if that’s just a separate room from those without kids and dogs etc

United KingdomOur recent stay at this hotel was, for the most part, a delightful experience. The Chateau was wonderful – offering a level of comfort and tranquility that made for a truly restful retreat. The rooms were well-appointed, and the ambiance was perfectly suited for those seeking a quiet and peaceful getaway. However, the highlight that fell short of expectations was the Michelin-starred restaurant. While the setting promised an exquisite culinary journey, the reality was quite different. The excessive wait time of two hours for our main courses was simply unacceptable, the staff weren't attentive in offering drinks in good time, this did little to compensate for the agonising delay. To add to the disappointment, one of the meals was incorrect, further highlighting the gap between expectation and delivery. In the end we asked for the bill before our main course arrived. Although the cost of the meals were deducted from our bill, this gesture didn't fully address the core issue. We had specifically chosen this hotel for the opportunity to dine at its renowned restaurant, and the disappointing experience cast a shadow over our entire stay. The hotel needs to seriously improve its service and quality to meet the standards expected of a Michelin-starred establishment.

United KingdomWe weren't told that the restaurant did a snack menu until the last minute, and although they very kindly accommodated us after 6pm (when the snack menu is due to finish), we were seated by ourselves in front of the restaurant which made us suspect we were being hidden from restaurant diners (rather than on the terrace at the back by the pool, which is overlooked by the dining room). We'd had a meal in the restaurant the night before, so options are a bit limited if you don't want fine dining every night. Especially given there aren't many options within walking distance, as the village is very quiet. That said, the snack menu was lovely and well executed.
It's a beautiful house in a beautiful village. The setting is lovely. There are two pools, and the bigger of the two is really pretty, sitting opposite the restaurant to the side of the grounds. The Michelin star restaurant is exceptional, and they have a kids option which was great for our son. We had a room at the top in the eaves which was generously sized given that I think it was one of their smallest rooms. Our son had his own full-size single bed and there was lots of space for the three of us. It's elegantly decorated and well appointed. The staff were super friendly and extremely accommodating.

IsraelWe had to climb up many stairs to get to our room. We are 70 years old, and had two big suitcases - we arrived late at night and checked ourselves in, so there was nobody to help us with that.
The most beautiful setting - the entire scene is very pretty. The old houses, the pond, serene environment ! The staff were extremely friendly and supportive !!!! We didn't want a full breakfast, so they went out of their way to arrange a coffee and croissant instead. Very nice !

United KingdomThe restaurant needs a lot of improving and did detract from the quality of this stay. The service was unbelievably slow and the food is not deserving of the price at all sadly. The staff were lovely, very friendly, but the service and the food were poor and do not match what is expected for that price in France sadly. We opted not to have breakfast following our experience at dinner. We were offered compensation of 50 euros, although due to an error on the bill this was actually initially 40 euros, until pointed out. Unfortunately the hotel's booking.com account had been hacked. Booking.com seem to have taken no responsibility for this and, as usual, put the onus back on the hotel (and the hotel back on booking.com). Irrespective of the reasons it was disappointing that the hotel have offered minimal acknowledgement of this, reassurance of the level of data breach (I am still receiving spam private messages on booking.com under the property's name) or efforts to address urgently. These sorts of issue carry reputational risk and I hope they are reflected on and addressed so that the whole experience of staying here can match the stunning location and friendliness of the staff.
The pictures do not do this property justice - an absolutely idyllic setting, beautiful house and grounds (and pools!) and the rooms were an excellent mix of traditional furnishings with modern features.
