Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDinner service was not up to the usual standard. Two of our three rooms this time were a little tired.
Have stayed before, like the Chateau and food.

United KingdomA couple of pieces of outdoor furniture could do with renewing on the rear of the property as they weren’t as nice as the front terrace and a broken children’s slide, not a problem but it needs removing so children don’t want to use it when it’s unsafe. Other than that, it was great!
Beautiful property, idyllic and quiet location, great sized family suites with private terraces including sun loungers looking out onto a shared lawn. Added touches of dog bowls with fresh water, activity packs and slippers for children were very nice. A few lawn games for children also which is great whilst eating at the restaurant. The spa is very nice and my son enjoyed a swim in the pool. Tennis court, table tennis.. a lot of activities which is always a bonus with children. Although it is a perfect spot for adults / couples, I would say these are their main customers. The pictures of the property don’t do it justice, it’s much nicer in real life. Room service meals are available on your private terrace which is also a nice touch after a long day travelling with children who may not want to sit down nicely for a proper meal in the restaurant. All staff members knew which room you were staying in and they were very friendly. The house champagne was delightful and you can purchase this at reception too, champagne also at the breakfast buffet.. what’s not to love :)

United KingdomNothing.
Friendly and comfortable. Great food and wonderful room. We could not be happier with the view, early light in the morning, comfy bed and great position right above the spa. A quick walk down the stairs in the morning and we were swimming in the pool in no time. The restaurant was superb - with gorgeous food served on the veranda in a summer evening by lovely, unpretentious staff. The melon, mozzarella cream and cured ham starter was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

United KingdomThe smell of dog poo in the courtyard- where you have welcome drinks!? , room had no bar menu or room service info in the room, staff were great and got that sorted eventually. High prices for not especially good food but served like a Michelin star - bland, the duck was tough, and the accompaniments too odd for us. Wine expensive - felt sorry for the reception staff that looked liked they’d been crammed into a toy shop.
Loved the rooms , restaurant wasn’t as good as it thought it was! Great staff. The service was brilliant. The amuse bouche were tasty.

United KingdomRestaurant closed on Monday and Tuesday. Hadn’t realised that when we booked. Solution provided by being able to eat room service food at the restaurant but not quite what we hoped for.
Lovely place - but a little quirky (metal and plastic children’s toys in the garden slightly at odds with the classic French chateau vibe). Really nice room.

United KingdomThe dining experience was superb in the garden, but there were some children's plastic games in the garden which just looked a little tatty, it would have been no trouble just to put them away for the evening but they were left out which was a shame. The garden and setting were wonderful.
The dinner was pricey, but exceptional. A real treat. I expect to pay for quality and this was excellent!

United KingdomI am not sure what 'star' this hotel is - it felt like 5. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment of arrival. Super clean, lovely aircon, amazingly comfortable beds, great bathroom.... It does feel a little like a conference hotel - with huge dining rooms (for example). Fortunately there were no weddings or large groups while we were there, that might be something worth checking if you're looking to stay. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on the night we stayed - so it was a 30 minute drive into Laon which was a bit grim. Again, worth a double-check to see if the restaurant is open.

BelgiumThe property is in urgent need of significant investment and fundamental renovations. In clear daylight the facilities look worn and tired. The spa / swimming pool is mouldy and outdated technically.
Very quiet location, very nice domain. We had a room with private terrace, which was unexpected and very pleasant, given the beautiful weather and garden. Price/quality ratio is very good.

United KingdomThe staff didn’t seem to keep good track of drink orders. Each drink should have a cheque to sign. This didn’t happen and a few of us felt we were overcharged.
