Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceNothing to dislike
We were delighted to discover this beautiful tranquil getaway. From before we even arrived, Fred ensured all would run smoothly, with a courtesy phone call the night before. Arriving at the secure gate, we were warmly welcomed, as Fred helped carry our bags into the chateau to our room. The building is over 300 years old and has been meticulously renovated by the owner himself. It is warm, inviting and tastefully decorated. Our room was very clean, tastefully decorated, and charming with shuttered windows and the view of the lovely back garden. The ensuite is roomy, and the rain shower, luxurious. The bed is super comfortable, and the quiet, relaxing environment ensured a good night’s sleep. Fred is a wonderful host, ensuring we were well catered for, he’s a superb cook and a genial host (you must try the cloudy eggs). He has extensive local knowledge, and we enjoyed his company immensely. We also enjoyed the company of his very well behaved dog, Achilles. The outdoor area is beautifully appointed, with a temperature controlled swimming pool, bbq area, comfortable seating and (soon to be) jacuzzi. The garden is relaxing to stroll around, with ducks and deer out the back of the property. We are planning to return so we can stay here again, and see more of Toulouse. Thank you Fred. In essence, we thoroughly recommend this property.

United KingdomThe accommodation was not exactly as described, although it didn't prevent us from having a good time and Fred's warm welcome more than made up for any disappointments. The circular staircase might be difficult for people with mobility issues. The downstairs bedroom has a (very) bijou shower room, but the toilet is down the corridor. This may be an issue for some people, but didn't worry us. The mosquitoes were a real pest despite various deterrents so, in season, take plenty of insect repellent. There is no credit card facility to pay for meals, so cash is needed.
We had a great time staying with Fred. I was smitten with his dogs as they were delightful. Fred was extremely hospitable, a great cook and good company. We appreciated all that he did for us to make us feel welcome.

SingaporeWe had an absolutely amazing experience staying here. The house and interior design is stunning. I got a lot of inspiration for how I want to renovate my own home. And Fred is a wonderful host, who made sure we had everything we needed and more. Highly recommended this place and wish we could have stayed longer!

FranceIf only it had been possible to stay a week there. We originally intended to do a “fly-by” one-night stay. However suddenly the weather changed which gave us an excuse to stay a second night. Just a note of warning, if you are allergic or have cynophobia, a fear of dogs, the resident canine is a long haired, medium large “bundle of love” who is very friendly to put it lightly.
Let’s start with location. For me, Toulouse is a perfect place to take a break when heading westward in the south of France. For example if you are going from Nice to La Rochelle the Chateau is a comfortable day’s drive. Situated approximately 8km northwest from the city center and hidden away on the countryside, it is an easy jump back onto the main auto-route (highway) that leads to the west coast and relatively close to the airport as well. Our host, and his two year old Border Collie, Achilles, warmly welcomed us as we rolled in through their front gates. (#24, use the doorbell/camera to communicate and gain access) The exterior, interior design, swimming pool all were exactly as pictured in the website. Big bed, beautiful flowers and trees in the large garden. The owner, a true Renaissance man and motorcyclist, not only has single-handedly done almost all of the remodeling here, but he is a talented amateur chef as well. We had an excellent continental-plus breakfast and on our second night we had a home-made seafood dinner. I believe there are plans to make dinners available with an obligatory advance notice, we were the first “test case”. We were very pleased. For the practical minded, there are many car repair and service shops along the way, as you will see as you head toward “Fenouillett” - the village where the Chateau is hidden. Also there is an immense shopping mall 2km away with a cinema, basketball shoes, sushi.
