Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumNothing wrong with the property itself however take note that you will need a car to go shopping if needed & bikers on the Sunday morning can be annoying.. It took me a long time to leave the property due to a long stench of them passing in front of the house.
Quiet, big room, beautiful view of the garden & the surroundings. Nice breakfast in the living room.

NetherlandsThe location is pretty remote, so hikers, come prepared: there are no dinner options anywhere.
Gorgeous house and room. The bath was nice, but we would have liked a shower option.

United KingdomVery nice quiet village location and an extremely helpful and friendly host. Nothing was too much trouble for them, even with a small language barrier. 🙂 Breakfast was continental, nice quality food and very relaxed. Good sized bedroom and bathroom. Shuttered windows were great for cool evening sleep 👍👍and a peaceful morning view. Parking was on the front driveway, plenty of room for the car. Lovely seating area out in the front garden, ideal for a relaxing drink in the evening sun.

NetherlandsI liked it all. It is a bed-and-breakfast where you feel you have to be silent at light, which is how it is.
We were crisscrossing northern France and found this mansion to stay over. We were welcomed by a very friendly host and shown the room, and a private bathroom next door. The room was like a piece of art. Blue-green everything in matching colours, as if we arrived in a magazine fotoshoot, really fantastic. The next morning a breakfast with crispy bread and home-made marmelade. Very nice. For a really good price.

United KingdomOur bathroom was the only part which felt a contrast to the rest of the house and not of the same quality
Sophie was very accommodating and made sure we had breakfast ready even though we had to leave earlier than the start time! The location is fabulous and the house has been beautifully decorated.

United KingdomThink the bath is a mistake, once inside the taps are very precariously hanging into the bath making it very difficult to get out and having an “open” plan isn’t for us. The bed ought to be a proper double too.
It’s a fantastic house and great location

LithuaniaThis is a gorgeous house both outside and inside. We were really excited to stay there and our room did not disappoint! Beautiful large windows overlooking the garden and green landscapes of the town, cozy interior, large bed. And the breakfast was super delicious! Croissants, baguettes, home made jams and yogurt, fresh orange juice and coffee. It was a pleasure to stay here.

United KingdomElegant house. Spacious and comfortable bedroom. Kettle and coffee/tea in room. Private, separate, bathroom with shower. Nice breakfast, fresh fruit, yoghurt, croissant, bread, preserves, tea and coffee - served in chandeliered dining room, overlooking the lovely rear garden. Pleasant hostess. Delightful rural setting. This was a treat on the last night of my short break.

United KingdomThe bathroom is separate from our large bedroom which we prefer to an en-suite. There is nothing we do not like with the Charme D Antan
This was our second stay at Charme D Antan and it was every bit as good as the first visit. We had a large comfortable bedroom. We slept very well. The house is beautiful and Sophie is a very good host. She answers emails immediately and is always happy to make restaurant recommendations. The village is very peaceful and there is excellent parking in the courtyard. Great breakast sitting in the very elegant salon overlooking the garden. Just one hour from Calais which makes for the perfect overnight stop. Highly recommended

ItalyThe owner does not seem to know much about the history of the place, unfortunately, because the location is quite fascinating. There are only a couple of rooms at the moment, I believe with a shared bathroom, which is not ensuite, we were lucky as no one else was staying besides us.
Charming remote yet convenient location at about one hour drive from Calais ferries. The place has been partially renovated by the current owners but still has lovely period features. I slept in one of the most comfortable beds ever, and the breakfast was superb (and included in the price!)
