It was easy to locate for our purpose which was to visit the Cabaret Vert festival. And it was not too expensive. It is quiet and you can sit outside for breakfast or a drink. Nice friendly staff as well.

The breakfast was pretty basic.

Decent hotel situated in a suburb of Charleville-Mézières. The room was pretty basic and reminded me of a youth hostel, but it was clean and cozy, had the basic amenities and I had booked very short-term for the Cabaret Vert Festival anyway, so I was grateful for the accomodation and didn't spend a lot of time in the room apart from sleeping. The personnel is very friendly and helpful, the premises are nice and quiet and there's parking space aplenty. A bus stop is only a short 5 minute walk away.

The restaurant was shut and we bought a ready meal from the supermarket to save a drive into the town centre. It was New Year's Eve so not entirely unexpected.

Convenient location for a stopover. Close to supermarket and fuel. Polite and efficient staff.

The evening reception young chap could have been more friendly and more welcoming. He just did the basic job and checked us in. However, the morning staff, lady on reception and chap in the breakfast room were friendly and nice... There is an issue in the bathrooms, as there is a small ventilation fan, system that we noticed straight away constantly running, noise, still heard if door was closed. I asked the young reception chap why it was on constantly, he just said that it goes off about 9pm and on again at 7 am?? Even so it is irritating and noisy. It did go off at 9.30 pm but on again around 7.30 am!! There is no litter basket in the main bedroom, just one in bathroom. The rooms opposite on the ground floor must have been smoking rooms as the smell in the corridor was horrendous, I can't believe that smoking inside is still allowed in France?!

A last minute choice as in Charleville it was extremely busy and nowhere to park acceptably for our original choice. This was better as it was 2.5 miles from the centre near to an older small town. Which was actually walkable, 30 mins to Les Ayvelles where we found a fantastic, unexpected restaurant for an evening meal, Le Pichet, fabulous food and very friendly. This made the stopover all the better. The ibis is small which is fine and in a nice residential area, it is clean and beds comfortable but it is basic, but ok just for a night stop off and is very quiet . The breakfast is very good, plenty of choice, nice fresh bread, pastries, fruit and cheese etc. This was fine. There is lots of free parking on site in the grounds too so is safe for leaving your car.

The hotels far from downtown (but I did not want to go there after a very long day of biking)

A very big positive for the team: 3 young people managed the hotel, the kitchen and the restaurant, with a lot of demanding passing customers. Not only did they work hard, they also supported each other. Pretty good dinner in friendly atmosphere. I recommend that Ibis shows its appreciation. Unfortunately I forgot the names, I think one was Natalija

Only one towel per person, no extra towel for the hands. Bedding must be fitted with plastic under the sheets,, was very hot.

Only one member of staff on duty outside of the kitchen meant delays with service. No fault of the staff member though, she was working very hard, just in need of support to provide the correct level of service.

The room was spacious and clean, and the lobby and bar open and bright.

the wifi was rubbish. I couldn't get connected at all. the hotel is quite far from anything, you would have to walk or get a taxi to some nightlife, but the hotels has a bar and restaurant

I'm a tall person and the bed was a bit uncomfortable, but that's not really a problem for me.

Friendly staff, plenty of space in the rooms, very clean. There's a motorway not far from the hotel, but you can't hear it indoors!!

No coffee or tea facilities or even glasses in the room.

Very good option for a night stop. Close to the motorway and shopping options. Nice, spacious room. Kind staff.
