How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAmazing renovation of two under the roof rooms. Original and creatively decorated. A charming atmosphere. Live Jazz night on Saturday night with dinner was wonderful. Dinner itself was excellent. Very friendly and family friendly. A gem.

Verified reviewDomaine and buildings are amazing with great views. Rooms are very pretty and cozy. The people are very nice and helpful. We had a great diner at this place too! We left our bikes here for 2 days after our stay for a hiking trip at Gavarnie. When picking them up, we got a great coffee to recharge. I recommend coming here 😊

Verified reviewPre arrival contact was excellent. Whilst Sandra wasn’t there when we arrived her son did an excellent job. He didn’t speak any English but that just added to the occasion. We were shown all the facilities and through the language barriers it went well. The rooms are big and immaculate. The views alone from the room are worth the stay. You won’t go hungry at breakfast
It’s not really a dislike. It’s up a narrow road out of the town which after dinner with a few wines is interesting. It’s not a hotel but an auberge. As an auberge though it’s excellent. To be fair we travelled off season, end of winter, so it was quieter. But then so was the town below.

Verified reviewOur stay was good, but was unfortunately spoiled by a double charge for breakfast, which the hosts promised to refund, but then did not refund it, and it is now over 2 months later.
We stayed for one night in August 2023, the hosts demanded a cash payment for breakfast, around 90 euros for the family, which should not have been charged as it was included in our booking. After our stay, we pointed this out to them through messages on booking.com, they promised to refund us for this double breakfast payment, and we provided to them our bank account details. However, it is now over 2 months later, and we still did not receive any refund from the hosts.

Verified reviewLocation - bit difficult to find as up a narrow mountain lane but just follow sat nav properly. What a superb place and view up into Pyrenees. Food - absolutely delicious cuisine - really didn't expect such a lively convivial restaurant hidden away up a mountainside. Salad starter that looked too good to eat followed by roast quail and a carafe of house red as good as any I can recall. Superb. Staff - genuine, friendly and welcoming.
Parking space was a bit limited - but I managed to squeeze a minibus in so really shouldn't need to mention it.

Verified reviewGood sized room, dogs and cats everywhere, quiet, peaceful….comfy bed. Good evening meals. …not for vegetarians!! Beef, veal or steak.
Staff were a bit manic….not overly friendly….nowhere where you could just sit downstairs and chill out…quite expensive for two nights.

Verified reviewThe location is fabulous. Dinner was 3 courses, wine and coffee-empty plates all round. The room was very comfortable, tea and coffee facilities, private bathroom and breakfast fit for royalty.
Everything was great.

I always choose the dog friendly accommodation and I was informed by the owner that pets are welcome, but she didn’t inform me in advance that the payment for 1 dog a day was 20 euros. We have missed the time for breakfast, of course, normally you could understand, something like that can happen, if you are travelling 2 days over the half of Europe. But this wasn’t that case, the owner and her husband have very vehemently “explained” to me, that that’s impossible to serve the breakfast later of organization reasons, but we’ve got only coffee a vacuum bottle, cold milk and 2 pieces of croissant, nothing else. Now to the so called “superior” room. The entry “door” to the “superior” room was 150 CM high, that’s’ why it was impossible to walk into the room “normally”. This so called “superior large room” has absolutely no standard clear height, there were only sloped walls and ceiling as well. Impossible to walk in upright position, by the way I’m 1,65 tall…We were there with two dogs, of course well behaving, clean, dewormed, vaccinated, etc. The owner had two or three dirty and free running dogs, even in the kitchen. What about a fundamental hygiene in the kitchen, dining room, etc. Nobody cared. I suppose that her dogs have never been dewormed or something like that. I said myself, o.k. your house, your rules. On the second day of our stay we have been asked to leave the key at the reception desk, because “it’s necessary to clean dog’s hairs”. We were sure the only purpose of the “cleaning” was to check the “room”, if is not “destroyed” by “strangers”. The “superior” room was full of dust already by our arrival, duvet and pillows smelly with musty smell. In the day of our departure she has “knocked” at door as a "commando". To leave as quickly as possible, I have hit my head against one of angles the result was bleeding head and knocked out tooth. She absolutely didn’t care about my bleeding injury, just sreemed at me "I don't speak English".
