I’ve had numerous experiences at various properties, hotels and have stayed in many countries, in europe and around the world. All of those hotels, apartments, or holiday homes provided us with a comfortable stay that was up to our standards as British citizens. This stay was a complete contrast to any of our previous experiences as frequent travellers. This apartment experience did NOT provide us with the following: a greeting and face to face introduction with the property owner. The only mode of communication with the owner was via sms, to which they were replying in french. Although this property is in France, there should always absolutely be tolerance towards foreigners, when a property is advertised internationally. The communication was limited, and little interest was shown from the owner towards particularly foreign guests. I would not recommend this property to any foreign travellers, as there was minimal effort from the owner to communicate with us as non-french speaking tourists. Furthermore, the amenities that should usually be provided in any given hotel or apartment, were not available. We were told that towels and linen had to be pre ordered after we had arrived at the property. Rather annoyingly, no-one told us that we had to order towels or linen for the beds. This created a nuisance for us as foreign guests, as we were unaware that essential items had to be ordered as an “extra” product. The basics were not provided, and we had to buy our own towels from the store. Adding on to the frustrating experience, the electrical appliances, such as the hob, stove were not useable as a child lock had been previously activated. And also, the heating, which was listed as one of the additions with the property in their description, wasn’t functional and no instructions were given how to use it. Amusingly, one of the heaters had been demounted in one of the rooms, making our heating situation the more hopeless.
