Adequate pitstop for us en route home. Pleasant reception, on site parking and clean, airconditioned room. It was Bastille day so quite a lot of bars and restaurants closed but we found somewhere which was good after a bit of a walk

the first member of staff to greet us was lovely. The next encounter with a different person was less so. We were trying to connect to wifi and her attitude was ‘you were told before’. Well in fact we were not, and the first lovely lady confirmed that. But in any case, this not good customer relations as it would have been easy to just be helpful. Also in the morning, the noise outside from I assume an industrial type extractor fan was so loud even with the windows closed.

all in all i don't want to complain at this point.

This hotel is located in a beautiful old building in the heart of Besançon's old town. The rooms are tastefully decorated, although our room looked a little worn due to the worn wallpaper. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was exceptionally large and had natural light. We were accommodated in an annexe and unfortunately there was no lift to the second floor. The breakfast buffet offered typical French ingredients as well as continental products. The picturesque old town and great restaurants are within easy walking distance, and a walk along the river bend offers many beautiful views and backdrops. We will gladly come back again.

We stayed only one night in the hotel and arrived late. We were very well welcomed. The person at the reception was very friendly. When she saw we were very tired, she did the check in very quickly and gave us our room :) we had overall good experience.

The room was too dark. I didn’t like the carpet which seemed from an old age and dark too, which made the room even darker. There was a coffee machine, and one tea bag. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to use it as there was no kettle. A small fridge would have been useful, in order to have had the bottle of water fresh and not warm

The kindness of the staff at the reception. They were very helpful. The bedding was really good and the bathroom, despite the fact that it was small was good. The fact that there was a safety box.

The biggest drawback is the parking. They have a small yard for a handful of cars, but it was packed by the time I arrived. Apparently you have to book the parking in advance, but it’s not specified at all throughout the room booking process. At that time of the day, in the city center, the only available parking is 8 minutes away on foot. Simply too much hassle for the weary traveler. Also a bit noisy because of the old wooden floors, can hear everyone’s steps.
