Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast was plentiful and a wide choice of pastries bread rolls etc as well as fruit and orange juice unfortunately the set up was that everybody staying there was sat at the same table which for me was very uncomfortable at times as the first morning there was a group of 4 to 5 people who were talking in their own language and Didn’t stop and this was not a relaxing morning eating breakfast. There were sofas next to the seating area where we had breakfast, which I did not see being used at all during our stay in my opinion it would’ve been far better to have had separate tables so people can eat their breakfast in private Which I feel is something that is essential especially when you’re staying in a place and there are lots of different types of people staying there. It was a shame because everything about the stay was wonderful except the breakfast set up and the staff were absolutely amazing and extremely friendly and helpful.
Lovely clean property with a lovely big bathroom and nice toiletries provided we had a mini fridge and was supplied with water which was a nice touch and also tea and coffee facilities in the room

FranceWe were left to help ourselves to (a very good) breakfast, which didn’t worry us, but some travellers might like more personal involvement from the hosts.
This is a very stylish chambre d’hôte with all the needs of the traveller carefully thought out. Good local information and a glossy book on the subject of the town in the room. Proper coffee maker.

FranceShower very difficult to understand. It worked very well once we had been shown what to turn! Not the hotel's fault but there was a lot of yelling in the street at about 4am
Charming old building very near the main centre of town. Good breakfast though the shared table might annoy some people.

CanadaThe only thing I can think of and I'm stretching - there was not a full length mirror and we did not get more time to enjoy the beautiful space.
Our host was wonderful, she greeted us at the door and offered welcome drinks. She shared lots of information about the building and area. We loved our room with the jacuzzi tub and wonderful shower. The room had lots of space and the bed was super comfy. Lovely decor all around. We were walking distance to the town square with an array of restaurants and cafe's. Breakfast was continental with a good selection of fresh pastry's and wonderful coffee. Parking was out front and free for the time we were there.

United KingdomI found it a bit difficult to find as it's a small frontage on to Rue Edouard Herriot. It's No 107 and opposite Theatre de Bethune.
We only had an overnight stop but the room was terrific. Lots of nice touches with bathrobes, slippers, luxury soaps etc. Very comfortable bad. Very close to the city centre but still quiet. Spa facilities looked good but we didn't have the time to try them or sample the breakfast. Very handy for Eurotunnel - just an hour up the A26.

My suite was very spacious, with a jacuzzi bath, large shower separated from sleeping and sitting area by a a glass ‘wall’. While minimalist it was extremely comfortable and well appointed. Velux windows allowed one to air the area as needed and radiators in each area allowed one to heat as needed. Excellent accommodation and housekeeping.

United KingdomThe place had good ideas but not fulfilled. Evidence of wear and patching up. There was evidence of damp in bathroom and this was because the shower drain did not work properly so the shower floor filled up like a bath and would have over flowed so had to keep shower very short. The spar bath took up all the space and did not look worth using. The Spa facility on site was never mentioned by the lady that met us.
We left by 8.00 so breakfast not available am and was left the night before. It was ok. But it never said on the site that an early breakfast was not an option. 8.00 is not that early.

United KingdomWe stayed here pre Covid and really liked it. It was immaculate. The people were very helpful and attentive. However it was a truly different experience this time. We left very disappointed. When we arrived there was a sign on the door regarding free parking. We rang the bell in the front area as per sign regarding this. We actually rang 3 times. Still waiting for answer. Aesthetically this place looks great. Sauna, hot tub, coffee machine in room, all the things for instagram. Breakfast is a very basic continental. It’s a shared area/ table so be aware if you don’t feel comfortable sharing a breakfast table. Finally their lack of housekeeping is appalling. The stairs leading up to our suite was very dusty. The suite we stayed in had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. The bed had been made but that’s it. Again no one on site to mention this to. Our first stay was so good. I feel the owners are resting on their laurels and just coasting along adding the insta friendly things. They need to invest in good housekeeping staff and maybe someone on hand when guests arrive. Its truly like a ghost hotel now.
