    Not much to add really

Great location. Hotel is full of character. it has a very 1950's atmosphere which is a refreshing change from the bland decor of most modern budget hotels.

A beautiful historic hotel next to the city center, restaurants, shops, and tourism office.

Beautiful old hotel very close to the city center and the park. Fantastic gardens, owner and staff were beautiful and accommodating (in English even). The bed was comfortable, with nice antique furnishings. The bathroom had a tub (!) the terrace/balcony was lovely with a view of the mountains and the garden. The breakfast was delicious typical French breakfast on their personalized china (oh the stories they must have!). Would love to hear more stories from this hotel's past... There was a Fabulous restaurant right on the corner across the street, highly recommended, be sure to stop by or call for a reservation. We were there the weekend of a mountain dog show in the park which was so interesting (we missed our dogs so this was fun). There were guys at a meeting in town singing one night while we were walking around after dinner which was kind of fun to track them down and see them singing. The tourism office is up the street if you need info on what to do in the area. One day we went all the way to the Cirque de Gavarnie for a long hike and I was really happy for the bath tub soak that night. This hotel is a great spot as a base for adventuring in the area.

There’s no air conditioning or Pool and with hindsight it was a bit much for me in late July, but I went for style over practicalities

Quaint, I loved watching the swifts whirling around and the moon rising from behind the mountains, the garden and balcony were lovely and the staff fabulous. Delicious breakfast with local produce and home made cake. Great location near the tourist information and places to dine.

Unfortunately the hotel is very dated with both the bedroom and bathroom needing to be modernised. While very nice the couple have been running the hotel since 1953, so are no longer able to give it the care and attention it needs!

Argelès Gazost is a pleasant town with good access to the Cirque de Gavarnie. The staff at the hotel were great.

The rooms are a bit noisy to the hallway and the bathroom was refreshed some 50 years ago, but it all worked perfectly.

The interior is from some time ago, but nothing is worn or otherwise degraded. Any downpoint is totally washed away by the extremely kind owners who pass through the day with a smile and some humour. The garden is beautiful, the breakfast more then sufficient and we could dry our clothes on their drying line. It was a very special stay.

Be prepared to use stairs as there is no lift.

Authentic old building in heart of the town . Spectacular views from our room to the valley.
