The hotel itself needed a considerable update. Dirty grouting in the bathroom. The room smelt musty. The central heating did not work but there was a portable electric radiator and extra blankets were supplied. Drearily decorated restaurant. Terrible artwork in the bedroom - so awful we took it off the wall during our stay. The canned music in the restaurant was too loud.

Very easy to find. Very good welcome. Comfortable beds. Staff made a great effort to be helpful and nice. Supper was a simple menu but very good.

Friendly ambiance, like a family home. Comfortable with excellent food in the restaurant at night. Short walk to town centre. Lots of parking.

Some rooms have been refurbished which is great but some still in need of a makeover. Rooms were very hot and a bit of road noise outside.

We stayed here for the Etape du Tour event and it was well located for us to reach where we needed to be each day. Plenty of storage for our bikes and bike boxes. The breakfast was good every morning with a simple selection of cereal, meat, cheese, and yoghurt etc.. . Really nice coffee and croissants. The owners and staff are wonderful and did so much to make our stay as good as it was. Francesca in particular was a wonderful host. The evening meals each day were great. 3 courses of freshly prepared home cooked food enjoyed in a serene setting in the outdoor seating area. The outdoor space at the hotel is lovely with views of the surrounding mountains and there is a carpark also. Carrefour supermarket 5 min walk away. Lovely beers served through the hatch at the bar. This is not a 5 star hotel but a charming hotel full of character, good food and wonderful staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home.

Room smelt badly of old cigarette smoke. Quite a bit of mold in the shower. We had two rooms and both had issues and need updating (table attached to the wall was sloping down and couldn’t be used and cigarette holes on a chair).

Lovely lady on front desk. Very friendly and accommodating. Appreciated being able to check in 10 mins after the stated time that check in closed. Breakfast was fine, although a little expensive for what it was. Beds were clean and comfy.

It is the one of the worst hotel I ever stayed..and we travel a lot.. I don't know how they are authorised to stay open. So: (room No 25) - Mold on walls !!! (look at pictures I just submmited) - Sockets out of the walls - Veeeeery cold, radiator didn't worked all night (Middle of January !!! ) - All the hotel smells of food from the kitchen downstairs - Veeeeery old and updated and all too aged too used. - Entrance door of hotel didn't work - Noisy Not health and safe !!! Just avoid !!! This hotel should be closed and renovated by the scratch !!!

The Food!!! The pasta bolognaise was amazing! All sourced locally and the staff were fab! The property is basic but perfectly reasonable for a nights stay before going up the mountain after driving down through France.

We have used Auberge de Costaroche many times over the years as the perfect stop off from Calais to the alps. Easy day drive, get up early in ski gear, skiing by mid morning. An extra days skiiing! It is such a great start to holidays in the alps.

We booked a large room because we have two large dogs and was told it was not available and the restaurant was closed Friday to Sunday. The hotel is being used for refugees. We end up leaving a day early.

I don’t have anything to say I didn’t like. I was there for one night… I need it a place to sleep and this place was just what I need it.

I liked the location of the facility. It was very convenient to get to places. Plenty of parking which it was great. Easy to find hotel. Room was clean.
