How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe position is perfect, it's one minute walking from the bakery and the supermarket. The room is clean and you have a superbe view on the glacier. You have a boiler and a hairdryer. For breakfast you have everything you want, and they have also a great restaurant for dinner. The owner is very kind, and she speaks also spanish and italian. There's also a terrace with a lot of flowers where you can rest or have breakfast
Everything was perfect

Verified reviewTasteful, comfortable albeit small room. Stunning views over the Meije glaciers. Generous and delicious breakfast.
Would have been good to have an explanation of the facilities - such as the sauna - upon arrival.

Verified reviewI stopped by with a friend on our cycling trip and we spent a night at the Auberge. We had a great stay with the exceptionally nice owner. The location of this very tasteful accommodation is incredibly beautiful, the food in the evening was top cuisine for a reasonable price and the breakfast was exceptionally good and fortified us for the whole day on the bike. We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to the great menu. I can absolutely recommend this accommodation, especially for cyclists, as there is a special pasta dish as well as bike repair tools if required. The hosts took very good care of us.

Verified reviewSmall hotel with pool, meals in the small lovely garden. Very friendly personnel. Quiet village in the middle of nowhere, but close to e.g. Narbonne. Dinner in the garden was great.
Parking garages are a bit cumbersome, we took the garage in the other street (300 meters), with a lengthy car , manoevring is a bit of a challenge.

Verified reviewWonderful location with a fabulous garden and outdoor eating area. Superb food.
Coffee served at breakfast was horrible. No parking. Room was very small but cute all the same.
Thank you, Katherine, for your lovely review. It feels good to see that our efforts are appreciated. Glad you enjoyed your stay. We are a bit surprised to read that the coffee was not to your taste...at the breakfast buffet we have 2 coffee machines, one with filter coffee and one espresso machine. For the latter we use very good coffee beans which we buy ourselves in Turin, Italy (Caffe Vergnano). With the espresso machine you can set the coffee strength yourself. You can make espresso but also a long coffee. Maybe it was not clearly indicated on the machine? We'll add a more comprehensive note, so everyone can enjoy a good personalised morning coffee to start the day. Thanks for the reflection and with pleasure having you stay another time - with a good cup of coffee :)

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay at Auberge Edelweiss. A very nice breakfast to start your day, and a delicious dinner in the garden (if the weather is nice) with a magic view. It is is more than worth eating there! Robin & Marlon, the owners, were very helpful. They have been in La Grave for long and they know about summer and winter activities. One week was too short – so we have to come back!

Verified reviewThe restaurant is exceptional. Great food, and the staff were wonderful. In particular, the view from the terrace is amazing! Also, great problem solving: We arrived during a hot water failure, but they did a great workaround.
We arrived early, and had hoped to leave our bags. However, the owner told us to come back at 3p.m when they officially open. We had to leave our entire luggage in the car, parked in one of the public car parks, all with a degree of trepidation.
Bonjour Kris, Good to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. And thanks for your understanding regarding the hot water situation, meaning you were not lodged in the main building, but in one of the suite- appartments in our second building instead. Hope you liked the upgrade ;-) Regarding luggage: check-in is from 3 pm but if people arrive before midday, than, if logistics allow, luggage can be left at the hotel. If the latter is not possible, than bare in mind that La Grave is a peaceful small mountain village and especially during the day there should be no need for trepidation. We hope you had a nice trip, travelling in Europe. Greetings from La Grave, Marlon & Robin
