How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe mal ont is a courtyard, but charming. Lovely to have a space outside. The hostess was very friendly and the location is great.
The toilet is really in the room, just a curtain separates it, so not very private.

Verified reviewRoom was comfortable and air-con worked well on a very hot day. Location was fine. Shower was good.
Had an issue checking-in. No staff present so needed to call numbers given. Got no response for 40 mins: then emails with codes to enter house and later an email with instructions to enter room. Premises is more like an abnb than a small hotel.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent. The people are lovely. The only problem which brings a low mark is the fact that the toilet is in the bedroom behind a curtain. This for us is a complete no no and solution is simple.
Toilet location.

Verified reviewThe hosts were absolutely lovely, they let us leave our bags before check in and provided a nice cool glass of water after we had walked with luggage from the train station. We were then surprised to receive a rose and a bottle of sparkling wine as gift. The place itself was very clean and in a safe area, it was only a short walk from the citadel and the main square with restaurants and shops.
It was all pretty good.

Verified reviewReasonably well done. Some shoddy workmanship skipped cleaning all the mastic off tiles in shower. The steel beam above the bed could have had the bolts cut off.
Air conditioning was completely inadequate. Seemed to put out more heat than cooling. The exhaust vent should at least be insulated to avoid putting off heat. Should not be advertised as a feature. No spare toilet paper, water glasses, parking, light burned out above toilet, no chair, barely adequate and not worth the price. Pictures seemed to suggest more access to kitchen than given.
Hello, I am really very surprised by your rating and especially by your comment Indeed, a light bulb burned out above the toilet, I apologize for it. Unfortunately, these are things that we cannot control, but I don’t think it prevents you from sleeping. Then, for the air conditioning, you say it doesn’t cool down, I realized from my room that the VELUX was open So you understand well that if you cool the room with the Velux open, all the heat comes in especially since it was practically 42°. It was a very strong heat. You are talking to me about the joints of the tiles, it’s indeed the first time someone has talked to me about this little detail, by the way, I went to see and I don’t see what you’re talking about. For the beam, if I left everything visible, it’s for the rustic side There is no danger, knowing that it’s on the ceiling I think you are a bit picky, and you tried to find me flaws in my accommodation, it immediately felt especially your wife Afterwards, I have nothing to say about you, because you were for me rather nice people I wish you many beautiful things Christophe

Verified reviewChristoph and Charlotte bent over backward to host us on a last minute booking, even though Booking.com overbooked the rooms and there was a problem with the platform.
I had clients/friends staying and the family was sharing their home which i didnt get to communicate to them, but that was perhaps my fault since it was last minute. They were wonderful, hard working people and we got yo know their family too!

Verified review-Comfortable and spacious room. -Easy check-in. -Modern amenities.
-Check-in was delayed until 6pm, which I thought was quite late and no compensation (later check-out, free breakfast, etc.) was offered for the delay. -Bed had a few crumbs/hair, so overall cleanliness could be improved. -Shower was disappointing, barely-hot water and very low pressure.

Verified reviewGood location. Clean. Responsive hosts.
Showers weren't hot (the heat seemed intentionally limited, as the tap water was substantially hotter). The code for the room was the exact same number as the room number - not wise for security. Uncomfortable pillows and mattress. A door for the toilet area would be more ideal and the light for the toilet also lights the bedroom, so you'll likely wake your partner up if you need to go at night.
Hello I am very surprised by this comment Who is yours The code each door has a different code. There are thousands of codes before approaching yours, it may be the same as the door but no one can know except you and me. As I explained, there are cameras in the common Then for the shower I find it very amazing because no one ever complained about the water, I think you have a hard time to handle the shower thermostat I think it’s a shame you didn’t tell me! For the toilet door, I do not see how I could put a door with the narrow passage, we have put a curtain of sound quality just so that there is a separation For the light, I find you a little difficult if I have to listen to each customer, I can’t get out of it because one customer wants it stronger the other wants it less strong. You understand that this is not possible. Anyway, I think you need to rent a room for 200 € the night because mine you paid 50 € and believe me when I deduct water electricity cleaning expenses not counting what they break or what they steal from me, there is not much left So if I have something to tell you, I think you should question yourself before making as much comment on a room at 50 €, we can not put the same services as a room at 200 € With all due respect, I wish you lots of nice things and a great holiday season Because mine with this note will not be

Verified reviewWell located within 12 mins of main restaurants and attractions. Very quiet area. Got an excellent night's sleep. The room and facilities are very adequate for one or two nights stay. Would certainly stay there again. Good choice for guests looking for a comfortable good value option.
Appartement is fairly basic but has everything you would need. Bedroom with ensuite separated by a curtain. Use of a communal large dining/sitting room. All in all nothing that we didn't like.

Verified reviewThe facilities downstairs looked nice pretty as did the room decor. The downstairs had a nice sitting area.
Are room smelt, possibly something wrong with the plumbing. Very little communication during our stay by staff member. The first time we where spoken to, the cleaner alerted us before our check out time that we needed to leave. We felt rushed and unwanted. The kitchen had a sign on it, not to be used only by staff and so coffee, glasses or in fact any cooking / drinking facilities stated where not available or at least offered. To top all off we left a clear cosmetic bag in the room, we attempted to get this back by calling after we left and we where told this was recovered. When we returned we found the bag upright on a washing station behind a slider door in the main living area it was open and one item (the most expensive) was missing. No guest will have known this was there. There is no doubt that the cleaner had taken it. We called and it seemed the owner didnt want to know. The owners where away during our stay I would suggest they strongly check with there current staff as this is not exceptable and I would give warning to those staying be careful with your goods.

Verified reviewBeautiful Room, verycomfortable, large and airy and well furnished with a desk, a shower, and a sink, very good value for the money.
I would have liked a kettle and some tea making facilities in the room, or in the kitchen for guests to use.
