How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful landscape gardens - rooms and lounge were so comfortable with modern furnishings. Lounge area was comfortable with some games and pool table Service was so welcoming with Jan and made us comfortable and at home from the minute we entered, and sat in the beautiful gardens with some wine and snacks. Would visit again and highly recommend.

Verified reviewThis is a special place with such a relaxing atmosphere. The food here was exceptionally good, presented to such a high standard and absolutely delicious. They adapted the set menu for my son who said it was his best ever meal ❤️ The service was wonderful. Rooms were extremely comfortable.
The cost of the spa we felt was a little higher than we wanted but it was so lovely to have it all to ourselves.

Verified reviewVery beautiful boutique hotel & spa. Interior decor was awesome, and very well designed. Beds were very comfortable too. there was a games room which was glorious- with a pool table and lots of wooden hand carved board games. Dinner and breakfast were superb- everything was home made and very tasty.
We arrived too late to use the spa facilities- but they looked great.

Verified reviewLast night of 14 day road trip, booked for location enroute to Dunkirk. Pleasant gardens.
We booked the Villa with garden view as the description sounds amazing. Unfortunately, it was a small ,self contained, converted narrow outbuilding on the driveway. The description sold it to us as it says it has 2 bedrooms, each having 2 large double beds. This is wrong as the rooms are only big enough for 1 double bed - Unfortunately, when we were shown around, we were offered only the use of 1 bedroom downstairs ( the other bedroom upstairs was not even made up). The reason for this, we were told, was because there were only 2 of us and there would be extra costs if they had to clean extra sheets? This accommodation was really not as described and disappointing. I am only commenting on our stay in the villa, the accommodation in the main house may well be "superb"
thank you for your visit to our estate. The villa is a very popular place because it's independent and overlooks the park. Each bedroom is equipped with two 80cm double beds. If you are two people and want two bedrooms or separate beds in one room, you must specify this; a supplement will apply, as mentioned on booking.com. We look forward to seeing you again.

Verified reviewThe hosts were very friendly and keen to help. Au petit manoir was very tastefully decorated, and the gardens and spa were lovely. I didn't have a chance to use the spa but would have liked to. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night's sleep. The bathroom and toilet were spacious and very clean, as was everywhere. Breakfast was delicious, with a lovely selection of yoghurt, fresh fruits, bread and pastries, plus eggs, ham, and cheese available. We really enjoyed our time here and our next stops have a lot to live up to. There was nothing negative about our stay, just wish we'd had time to use the spa facilities as they looked lovely. Highly recommended!

Verified reviewWe chose this property as it had good reviews and because it offered half board. We were very disappointed that the lady that opened the door was not welcoming and appeared surprised that we turned up . We have had a very long journey that day with our children and we were looking forward to having dinner . The lady rushed us upstairs and when we enquired about time for dinner she told us it’s not possible without offering us an explanation. We were baffled as there were people downstairs having dinner . The lady told us that there were other places to eat in the town, however, due to being the 27 of December there were not opened and we did not have where to eat . Not the Christmas spirit that you would have hoped from the owners . The gentleman that served us breakfast in the morning was polite and attentive. Unfortunately when leaving, he did charge us an extra tax despite the booking saying “all taxes included “ . I did raise this with him and he said that it’s an extra local charge and it’s not much . I didn’t have the energy to challenge him on this and we were in a rush to catch the ferry. Sad and disappointed that a place that looked lovely decorated for Christmas lacked the warmth from the people running the place . We will not return or recommend.
Hello we were delighted to welcome you at the last minute and that in terms of breakfast and room everything went well as indicated in the explanations on booking the table must be reserved 24 hours in advance because my wife cooks in ultra with local products our employee should have explained to you unfortunately she is not very comfortable in English however it was good that she gave you addresses nearby for the tourist tax booking included as indicated the value added tax and not tourist tax we do not wish to include the tourist tax in the booking price because we would be subject to commission once again while we only collect it for the region we are sorry that you were not able to experience the atmosphere of our manor because it is popular on many platforms and by our local customers happy new year 2025

Verified reviewClean, accommodating host, great breakfast. Sadly didn’t get to use the spa, be aware it does not look to be apart of the booking and costs a bit to participate, it does say separate reservation required. Be aware certain rooms are dog friendly others not.
Separate for the spa. Sadly we only stayed a very short time.
