How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel has no breakfast room, breakfast is served in the room.
Very clean, very proper, well kept. the staff spoke English and was very friendly and forthcoming. The hotel is situated centrally in Caen.

The rooms were very small and the bathroom even smaller. No shelf to put soap. No elevator

There is no lift. Parking is not guaranteed being so central but we did manage to find a space nearby.
Budget hotel - comfortable and very central location, friendly and helpful staff and a fantastic continental breakfast delivered to our room. Very good value.

Small bedroom and bathroom.
Friendly and helpful proprietor provided recommendations for dinner and breakfast. Quiet yet central location. Good place to stay and easy to find. Very clean rooms. Secure bike storage in a locked shed at back of hotel. Pleasant background music in foyer.

We would have added breakfast but did not know it was an option until much later

A little noisy perhaps and busy during the night/early hours fri/Sat if your room is facing the road with a night time food server /so loud voices expected ….its opp so windows closed /still a good nights sleep 💤💤 Would be nice to have maybe one or two English channels on the TV …sky news etc for those not fluent in French 📺 Will be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lovely hotel : the welcome from staff second to none : clean and tidy Handy little supermarket opp Great location for getting about be it bus 2mins away or train station 10 mins away for Bayeaux 20 mins by train Get to the d/day beaches on the no 12 express bud 30 mins express or Caen memorial museum on the no 2 / 20mins away A must visit never spent 5hrs in a museum before in my life ..excellent Preload yr bus tickets ..1/60 a trip Lots of restaurants and shops 5 mins away …plus a very very very lively selection of bars round the corner I’m not being paid for this …though I should be 😂😂

Information on parking. The email came too late so we could not plan. We had a small camper so height restriction an issue for some car parks.
Clean, polite, no frills. Pleasant staff. Good central location. Breakfast was very good value for money. The booking was as we requested and excellent value.

Wish we could have stayed longer!
The location was amazing- just a short walk to the historic centre, close to restaurants and amenities . Kudos to Frank who went out of his way to make 2 sweaty English cyclists welcome and having a completely secure place to store our bikes as well as great recommendations for places to eat. The rooms were really comfortable and despite it being an incredibly hot night I slept like a baby! If we are ever lucky enough to revisit Caen then we would definitely stay here again. Merci pour tous Frank!

Perfectly located to explore the city. The hotel provided many local food suggestions that were great. The rooms are a nice size and very clean. They have been modernized and it's all been very well taken care of. I'd happily stay here again on return and would recommend it.

We booked very last minute online, because our trip went a bit different than expected. We were welcomed by a really nice man that even upgraded our room because a better one was still available. Everything was very clean and comfy. The location is perfect: walking distance from everything you need in the city center. We also loved the breakfast!

I enjoyed my stay very much! The room was very small, even for a budget hotel, but it didn't really bother me since I was only there to shower and sleep. Room was clean and quiet. It was a little weird that you leave your key at the front desk when you leave the hotel for the day, but the location felt safe.
