Badly equipped kitchen, not even a can opener and no decent sharp knives. Inside shelf in fridge door broken. Superficially cleaned. On moving a chair to get to plug I cleaned up dust/fluff/hair. Also I cleaned properly around front and back of toilet (disgusting). Layer of dust on several surfaces. Obviously a problem with waste water, took ages for water to drain from sinks and bath. The rug in centre of room needs to be thrown away it is very grubby. Maybe the vacuum does not work?! Dustpan but no hand brush. Exposed screw sticking out of cabinet door where knob had come off, a safety hazard, I took screw out and put it with knob inside cabinet. This place needs some serious TLC.

Good location right next to ski run.

The unit is managed by a third party agency called Happy Rentals, making communication tough. The local office rarely answered calls, but the national Booking.com message platform was quick to respond. When we arrived there was enough toilet paper and dish soap for 2-3 days only. We are accustomed to rental apartments being fully stocked fo the entire stay = cultural misunderstanding? The apartment was NOT cleaned very well: there were a couple of dirty dishes in the cupboards and toothpaste stains on the toothbrush rack and inside the bathroom cupboard. The kitchen had a railing along the countertop that fell off. The management firm simply placed it in the ski locker until we left. The knives need to be replaced as they are bent, very dull or look like they've been ground on cement. The TV had a DVD player but no movies, only local channels. The internet was an issue. When evaluating this unit on Booking.com the front page of the site shows the internet symbol (signal strength). You must click into property services to find that the unit does NOT have wifi(I did not see this when making the reservation after seeing he symbol on the main page - my fault). The management firm did offer us two portable devices for getting wifi what we accepted. (they waived the $6/day fee). BUT, one device never worked. The other device barely worked and was intermittently functional. This was frustrating as we wanted to watch Xmas movies and cozy up as a family (since it was dumping with rain outside) The location was a mix. If the snow conditions had been great, we would have loved the access tot he mountain. In our case, it was rainy and we felt cut off from Chamonix options. After 3 days of riding the 30 minute bus in and out of Chamonix, we rented a car. The property management firm gave us three different codes over the course of four days and none of them worked. The unit was fine. The management firm made the stay unpleasant = not Happy Renters.

The chalet is right along the ski trail for Les Houches. If the weather had been normal, we could have skied in and out of of the front door! There are multiple ski rental companies right down the hill from the chalet in Le Prarion. There was tons of hot water!!! The pool (once we tracked down the correct code) was great for the kiddos. The chalet was cozy and the views out the living room window are incredible.
