How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewA beautiful gem of a place overlooking the castle. The apartment is very comfortable with a wonderful wrap around balcony. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the outside shutters ensured a dark room when the sun came up. I would highly recommend.
Very little, we couldn't quite get cold air from one of the bedroom air con units.

There was no soap, shower gels etc in bathroom, only one roll of toillet paper and only one capsule of coffee. Downstairs neighbour came up at 9am to complain about the noise, said he couldn't sleep. We were quite, just woke up 🤔 App Apartment is on the top floor, no elevator.
Hello, We would like to remind you that we are not a hotel, and the ad doesn't mention that we provide shower gel, coffee pods, etc. We do provide a roll of toilet paper for guests upon arrival. No lift and up 4 flights of stairs. No toiletries, one toilet roll and dishwasher tablet and no kitchen roll for 3 nights.

We would also like to remind you that our apartment is a short-term rental accommodation, and not a hotel: we provide a basic welcome kit (toilet paper, dishwasher tablet, etc.) for the beginning of the stay, but consumables are not renewed daily. Verified reviewThe apartment is in a quiet neighbourhood with very little traffic noise. The balcony goes all around the apartment and gives fantastic views of the castle and river. It was clean and has been decorated tastefully. The owner was very helpful and super prompt at replying to enquiries.

Verified reviewThe apartment was perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed for our short stay. Lovely living room area with TV, well kitted out kitchen with microwave, cooker dishwasher, plenty of cutlery and crockery. Lovely shower room with washing machine and a separate toilet. The bedrooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated with doors leading onto to the wraparound balcony and views of the castle. The apartment was within walking distance of the centre and the castle.
Nothing, it was perfect for our holiday needs.

Verified reviewLovely quiet area, felt safe and secure. Property had everything you need for a short stay. Kitchen area clean and easy to use. Excellent shower, water lovely and warm. Car parking spaces readily available. Comfy clean beds.

Verified reviewThe lockbox was further away from the property than we expected but easy to find with google maps. Good 300 metres away.
Only downside was the 69 steps to the top floor apartment. However the views were lovely

Verified reviewA beautiful, well design and appointed apartment! Spacious, esthetically pleasing and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The balcony that wrapped around was wonderful and we were able to dry off the laundry. Close to both the lower as well as the upper town. Carrefour was 10 min walk. Had also a parking place.

Verified reviewA well considered apartment with modern design and perfectly located for exploring the city and beyond. Parking was always available onsite or free on road where there are plenty of spaces. Amazing view of castle from wrap around balcony. Stairs are not a problem and great exercise.
Balcony is sparsely finished with a table and four chairs and could do with more comfortable furniture etc.

Verified reviewThe view is outstanding and the location is convenient for both the old and newer parts of the city. The apartment is well equipped and everything works.
There is no mention in the property description that the apartment is on the fourth floor and that there is no lift. This makes it difficult to access for anyone with hip or knee issues. Whilst we were staying the temperatures were in low single figures at night and rarely exceeded 15C in the day. There is not enough bedding to cope with these temperatures- we had to use the ( single) blanket from both rooms to be warm in one bed. Had both rooms been occupied there would not have been enough. User instructions for appliances ( particularly the induction hob and microwave) and what can be recycled would be helpful ( UK residents would expect to put glass in recycling for instance).
hello, thank you for your comment. it is clearly indicated in the description that the apartment is located on the fourth floor without elevator. moreover concerning the temperatures all the rooms including the bedrooms are equipped with a heat pump in perfect working order and fleece blankets are available in the cupboards. we will not fail to provide the instructions for each electrical appliance.
