Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had to swap rooms as the first one we were given was quite outdated and upon checking the price the newer studio was the same price per night as the room we were staying in so it made sense for us to ask to be transferred to the newer room.
The property is in a great location. Close to Dunkirk beach and city centre and not a too long of a drive for the docs. We ended up selling rooms as the first one was quite outdated however the studio room was absolutely amazing. Very clean and had everything we needed including a great view. The staff were quite helpful.

NetherlandsThe pillows and beds were okay-ish, the rooms spacious but also a bit -hm- outdated? It could use some TLC in our opinion. Especially the bathrooms. The colorful outside is more modern than the inside. But it was great as a stay-over for the hop to England.
Two linked suites are very practical, especially if you've got grown up children. The price was very reasonable for the amount for room space. The location is near to the center of Dunkirk, all walking distance, some good restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly. There is a mini gym (our son used it). And a kitchenette is always handy. Easy parking on the street (there is a big parking area just a few meters away).

SwitzerlandAfter a few disappointments, I made the habit of checking the location of a place in anticipation of road noise. This one seems to be on what should be a small harbour street that should not be too busy. Yet, all night there was road noise, which made it hard to sleep, and impossible to ventilate the rather warm room. If you do choose to stay here, ask for a room that does not face the street!
I love apparthotels in France, because one gets the comfort and convenience of a small apartment while travelling. This one was furnished rather modestly, mostly with stuff from IKEA. Nevertheless, it was decently comfortable and things were clean and worked. The location right inside the harbour also offers a lot of interesting things to discover!

NetherlandsInitially, we’ve been offered the room number 212. However, the room was extremely pathetic. It was full of cigarette and cannabis smell, and extremely hot. Also, does not have any proper ventilation. Additionally, the washbasin in the wc was blocked, and the water gets logged quickly. As a result, we requested to change the room immediately. Unfortunately, the authority didn't change our room at the same night. Although, the next morning, we were offered a different room in another building. The new room was really good.
Breakfast, location.

NetherlandsSink in one bathroom needs some attention (slow drain). No air conditioning from what we could tell, but it wasn't needed at all during the stay in late July. Open the windows to let in the strong, cool sea breeze. We could leave the windows open at night for a nice breeze (even after lowering the exterior darkening shutters). Fan was also available in the room
2 adjoining rooms were the perfect solution for our family (2 adults, 2 children) Easy street parking Kitchen well equipped with utensils, pots, bottle openers, trash bags, organic waste bin, dish cleaning supplies, good size refrigerator Good breakfast with wide selection (scrambled eggs and even DIY boiled egg machine, bacon, waffles, several types of bread including gluten free, croissants/viennoiserie, cereals, dry chia, muesli, nuts, wide selections of spreads (honey, Nutella, jams), cold cuts, cheeses, multiple yogurt options, dairy and vegan milk, DIY fresh squeezed orange juice machine, apple juice, fruits, organic teas, coffees, this already lengthy description is probably missing what was available!). Nice options to use Playstation5, Foosball and board games. Menu prices for bar were very reasonable. Nice outdoor seating area
