How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I am still waiting for someone to get back to me. Dear Booking.com Customer Service, I am writing to follow up on my unresolved complaint regarding our stay at Hotel L’Aigle du Montana, initially submitted on 26 March 2025 at 00:58 French time. As detailed previously, our experience at this property—listed on your platform as a four-star hotel—was far below expectations and did not meet the standards described on your site. Despite raising concerns directly with the hotel and with your customer service team, the situation was not resolved. Most distressingly, we were forced to check out early and book alternative accommodation at a personal cost of €636.52. This additional expense was incurred solely because the original hotel failed to provide the promised conditions and Booking.com did not intervene effectively to rectify the issue. What I Am Requesting: 1. A full refund for the stay at Hotel L’Aigle du Montana. 2. A refund of the €636.52 we were forced to pay for alternative accommodation. 3. An appropriate compensation for the stress, inconvenience, and disruption caused. A Matter of Principle and Accountability As a loyal customer, I chose Booking.com based on your publicly stated commitment to transparency, customer care, and your values of partnership, responsibility, and trust. These values extend to both your listed partners and your customers, and I trust you agree that this situation has fallen short on all fronts. • You promote a “Best Price Guarantee”, yet I paid more due to a partner’s failure. • You claim to offer “support when you need it most,” but no timely solution was provided. • You ask customers to “book with confidence”, but this experience has left me feeling exploited and unsupported. Supporting Information: • Original Complaint Date/Time: 26/03/2025 @ 00:58 French Time • Alternative Hotel Cost: €636.52 (receipt available upon request) Please treat this as urgent.

Verified reviewAmazing winter chalet style hotel right o the slope. It took one minute walking from ski room to ski lift so we were the first on the slopes. Ski resort is great, all pists are groomed daily. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and cozy, staff is super friendly and nice.
Breakfast could include more local products such as French cheese and pastries from boulangerie, not from refrigerator. It was exactly the same during 6 days, no changes at all

Not ski in ski out as advertised no bar no restaurant on site no music or atmosphere and very poor customer service and very limited breakfast. Stale pastries from breakfast served each afternoon no drinks offered. Didn’t offer the days I required so I had to book minimum days required so I had to book an Extra day then once booked they started to offer shorter duration but refused to change my booking.

Verified reviewAll the personnel are nice and very helpful, the rooms are quite clean and fresh. Most of the days breakfast was tasty. The room had a big TV, could stream from my phone there.
The room was tiny, absolutely no space to dry our skiing clothes. The furniture is almost absent and there is nowhere to put it. The distance between my bed and the wall was 20 cm, just enough to push my bag there. The listing says it is ski-in/ski-out, but it is not. You need to walk 50+ meters to get to the snow. Once went to the spa in the other village Montana building to enjoy heated outdoor swimming pool. It costs 25€ per person and their showers don't work, you get no slippers, no hair dryer.

Verified reviewStaff were really helpful and attentive. Location close to slopes but quiet. Breakfast was peaceful, always somewhere to sit and never very busy. The rooms were really spacious and comfortable.
As its small doesn’t have the facilities of its larger sister hotel but the small pool and sauna were sufficient.

Verified reviewGreat location with lots of options for food within the group of hotels all in Tignes 2100. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to help us rectify an airport transfer issue.
They could send their welcome email offering support with transfers, ski pass purchase and ski equipment rental much sooner as I had arranged all the above independently but would have used their services - a minor thing in what was a brilliant week.

Verified reviewPretty, well kept, comfortable room, great views, nice staff. Excellent breakfast.
The car park. I struggled to get in and out as the entry is so tight and damaged my hire car, resulting in a hefty bill on return.
