How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Breakfast was very expensive. There are some great bakeries nearby and cafes just a bit further: go there instead! Security: there was a shocking incident one day when we returned to our room to find that the cleaner had left our room door propped wide open. The apologies we got felt half hearted. Please sort this out.
Very well placed, nice staff, comfortable rooms, excellent spa facilities (one of the best I’ve ever seen in 20+ years of visiting spa hotels). Thoroughly recommended for a break in beautiful Aix-les-Bains.

Booked 2 rooms and one was not ready at check-in (3pm) we were 5 in a triple room (rooms ate not spacious), went to dinner at 19h and it was still not ready! No apologies, no compensation, etc. The staff at the reception were friendly but gave the impression that they were not well trained (i.e. let me ask my colleague, let me check upstairs if the room is ready, I'm only an intern here my colleague will help, etc). We had the key room after coming back from dinner (around 10pm)...not acceptable!

There where some dust under the bed and the elevator for guests was being under renovation.
It was open - when most hotels were having holidays. The decoration and organisation of the room was nice.

Pool / spa busy. Stair / lift area very utility. Are 2020 renovations still ongoing ? ££££££.

We had a suite. There was always an issue with a key that did not work and every single time one of us (there were 5 of us) went downstairs to change the keycard, all of the other keys stopped working. The receptionists did not know (ANY OF THEM) that they automaticaly cancelled all existing keys. I learned about that when leaving. On Sunday morning around 8 am someone was repearing something with a drill, it was horribly noisy. They did not even ask us, how happy we were with our stay.... so we had no chance to tell them.

There is no bar, but the staff said there will be one someday
The bedroom was really nice, very good size bed, quiet, nice bathroom but the shower was a bit slippery. Love the decor. I like the toilet was separated from the shower. I enjoyed the pool and facilities. There is an underground parking which is useful Good location from the city center, just a 5mn walk.

Jacuzzi not working this morning - unable to report this from the Spa. Steam room not great. No fridge in room to keep water cool - expected this at these prices. Drunken woman shouting in corridor at 2am - where was security??
The staff were wonderful and very approachable. Lounge area was very comfortable. Bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping services were excellent. Decor in lounge area. Great location.

Timeslotted breakfast is very annoying and seems like a remnant of Covid-19 safety precautions that they have forgotten to remove. Adds unnecessary stress to the stay.

Water in the pool was actually quite cold
Great room in nice location just a short walk from the train station and center of town. Room was spotlessly clean and bed was comfortable.

The spa area was a bit disappointing. The sauna was not very hot (only 60°C) and not separate from the swimming area, so not possible to sauna naked as is normal in German speaking and Scandinavian regions.
Short walk (10 minutes) from station and centre of town. Modern, clean room with unusual doors to bathroom and separate toilet. Safe deposit box in room.
