How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe hosts were very kind and welcoming. The apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable, with a lovely balcony. Everything was in perfect working order, and I truly enjoyed my stay. The host shared many helpful recommendations about the city, which made a big difference. They also kindly assisted with a very late check-in at night. Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for the wonderful and atmospheric breakfasts

Verified reviewComfortable studio apartment. Owner provided basic supplies which was much appreciated. Air-conditioning was a life saver due to the intense heat. Balcony was a joy to sit out on as in a quiet area. Although it may be different during school term as school directly opposite so would lose some of the privacy we were able to enjoy. Recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants. Owner provided all travel details needed to get from airport/train station to studio, including videos.
Toilet flush was an issue. Filip was quick to help with this. Wardrobe facilities minimal for handing items due to property being in there. Unusual for owner to ask for a photo of us and our ages. The area is currently under construction as installing a fifth tramline. This can make getting about in the local area difficult.
You are raising an issue that you have not encountered and that you imagine to be possible based on mere speculation. Beyond being unnecessary, imagining that the tranquility of the area would be compromised because of the school directly across the street is a mistake, because during the school year, school ends at 5:00 p.m., and as a result, tranquility reigns until the following morning. And during the day, apart from the fact that you would normally be visiting the city, there are only two 15-minute breaks for childs, which is not insurmountable. Indeed, the toilet flush was faulty, but I was able to fix the problem quickly. As for storage for your clothes, you had a large wardrobe with 10 compartments and a large rail for hanging your belongings... When I came to fix the toilet problem two days after your arrival, there was nothing in the closet and your two suitcases were on the floor, not unpacked... Therefore, I don't understand your comment. When making a reservation, I introduce myself and send a photo of myself so that we can recognize each other upon arrival, which takes place outside. Asking for the same thing is not illogical and it's just an exchange of good principles. Most hotels ask for identification upon arrival, which contains much more information than what I am requesting. Finally, there is indeed construction work in the city until December 2025 for a future tram line, but the work is not at the foot of the building, it does not cause noise pollution, and I am in no way responsible for it.

Bhí ár seomra leapa compordach agus chinntigh sé codhladh maith gach oíche. Bhí Filip an - eolach freisin agus muid ag dul ag féachaint ar radharcanna I Montpellier.

Verified reviewThe accommodation was well located, even though there are currently roadworks which make the walk more difficult (and mean that the tram isn't available). The apartment has a lot of space (and a welcome balcony) and is in a quiet area.
Being independently located of the main house, it was a shame not to meet the host and the breakfast was very much 'DIY' although a selection of items had been left for us to use. There was no grill/oven to use for cooking.
There is indeed work going on ALL OVER THE CITY, for a future 5th tramway line, which will give us, at the end of the year, a tramway stop 2 minutes from the Studio. A stop that didn't exist before. On the Booking.com website, we offer 2 Bedrooms and 2 Studios. It is clearly stated that one of the 2 Studios is completely independent and it is the one YOU have chosen. We didn't meet, but I was in daily contact with you via WhatsApp, to give you lots of information and good deals with free aperitifs or discounts in Montpellier speciality shops. Breakfast is included in the price of the Studio and is available on site, with coffee, tea, cereals, milk, orange juice, yoghurts, fruit, jams, butter, honey, bread, brioche and rusks... There are no ovens in our accommodation, but you do have electric hotplates, a toaster and a microwave. All available facilities are listed on the Booking.com website.

Verified reviewNice cozy apt. for a couple, all amenities are included and the host is very responsive. He's also full of suggestions for visiting the city and the surrounding.
If staying during weekend is perfect. During the day of weekdays the apartment is located next to a primary school and can be noisy, although is very well soundproofed.
The Studio is located in a quiet residential area. There are 2 primary schools on either side of the Residence. Between 8:00am and 5:00pm, only during school recess, children can make noise. However, after 5:00pm until the next day, silence is the order of the day, not forgetting weekends and the many school holidays in France.

Verified reviewYour holiday home in charming Montpelier, with Mediterranean vibe We stayed at Philip's place in Feb 2025. Everything looks exactly as on the pictures. Philip thought of literally everything. The place is very compact yet not small at all, and very smartly functional. All the little decorative details give it the unmistakable Mediterranean holiday vibe. The terrace with a lot of plants and sunny view throughout the entire afternoon is a real bonus! We sunbathed in the middle of February! It is private and quiet. The bed is big and very comfortable too. Beautiful, beautiful place! In relation to location, to get to the Old Town, there is a 10-15 min walk, which is nothing compared to the hours you undoubtedly will spend lost in the endless little streets there, full of history and charm. 3 min away there is a Lidl shop and another supermarket, if you need anything to buy. We personally would highly recommend eating out. The delicious French cuisine in Montpellier is taken to a new level! A must is also to pay a visit to any of the local bakeries, which are everywhere. What amazed us was that, believe it or not, there are no tourist traps in Montpellier, we were told. You can trust any eating place there. Experienced travelers, who have visited many countries and places, we absolutely fell in love with Montpellier! Philip provided us with really detailed and useful information about anything you can think of, including opening hours, telephone numbers, websites - a mini pocket tour guide. We had dinner in 2 of the recommended places, and the food was incredible!! On top of that, as we went there by Philip's recommendation, we enjoyed complimentary drinks as well. We can't thank Philip enough for his kind help and warm hospitality, and if ever in the area again, we would love to stay there again. Highly recommended place! The value for money is beyond belief.

Verified reviewWonderful stay and everything you need. Very comfortable and nice to have plenty of space to relax.
It is about a 10/15mins walk to the main centre so you just need to be prepared for that but really not that far so really not a problem.
The Studio is in the centre of Montpellier, just 10/15 minutes' walk from the Historic City centre. We also have 1 other Studio and 2 Bedrooms 5 minutes' walk from the Historic centre. Don't hesitate to ask what would suit you best.

Verified reviewthe ideal place if you do not wish to go to a hotel or rent an apartment. it is a bit like flat-sharing, except you have your own private bathroom and somebody prepares delicious breakfast for you;). there are also 2 independent studios to be had that would be great for a longer stay, but i liked my generous, cozy room with loggia in the apartment and it was nice to not be all alone all of the time. it is not in the tourist center but in a popular neighbourhood very close to the old town in a friendly, quiet street near to tram stops and the station. the owner is very respectful of your privacy but will give you great suggestions for places to visit if you want them. i had a lovely time!
the building itself is neither beautiful nor historic and the view is rather prosaic.
The building itself is neither beautiful nor historic.... However, for your information, it is listed as an architectural monument of interest, because it was designed and built by Ricardo Bofill, the famous Catalan architect who, among other things, also designed the entire Antigone district in Montpellier. The view is rather prosaic... Maybe..... It's a view over the rooftops of a city, in the centre of a fairly large metropolis. It's not a view of the sea or the mountain, but either are 15 km away...
