“I received a phone call from the host as I finally reached the top of my long climb into the Ardèche during a long distance cycle race. Enquiring as to when I would arrive. I explained my fatigue and that it might take some time. I was assured that this was not a problem. On arrival I was greeted very warmly, shown my room and invited to dine too. During my whole 9 day, 2700km trip this was the only time I felt I just had to stay for breakfast, so kind were my hosts. The location is truly spectacular. By night the sense of peace and tranquility is extraordinary.”
