“The location is great. Very silent but only 10 min walking from the center of La Chapelle en Vercors. Great to reach beautiful places and hiking areas in the Vercors. Our tip: get the detailed walking map for 9 Euros in the tourist office of La Chapelle. After a day of hiking swimming in the Piscine of La Chapelle is very relaxing (closes 7 pm, 5 Euro/adult). Dinner in the hotel is highly recommend.”
“The rural location was amazing - so peaceful with only the odd vehicle going past.
The hosts were great - Odile speaks English so was able to recommend walks, places to go and when the markets are. She was very helpful and her sense of humour was great!
The apartment is upstairs and is quite compact but was fine for the two of us. The colourful bedding was lovely and cheerful! There are chairs outside in the garden for visitors' use.
The village of La Chapelle-en-Vercors has a Spar shop which is a bit limited in choice, but nearby Saint-Martin-en-Vercors has a good delicatessen and boulangerie. Saint-Martin also has a superb café "L Ancoline" which is next to the hotel, where you sit under an ancient lime tree. Best meal of our trip was here!
The market in La Chapelle is on a Thursday and Saturday and is superb - local vegetables, fruit, fish, nuts, walnut oil and honey, to name but a few.”
