Great stay - location was close enough to Savonlinna but not in the town, close to national parks. There's a tennis court and sauna and row boats. Honestly we easily could have stayed for much longer both at and around the property. Also the owner was super helpful and had good recommendations all around the area

Great place to relax and enjoy some time off in nature. Everything is nicely furnished and very tidy. We enjoyed a great breakfast and also the dinner was very good. The owners are super nice and helpful.

Lovely picturesque place. Sadly we spent there only 1 night, this place worth to stay longer! It is an oasis of peace. At the same time, everyone can find their own activity there. We were also lucky with the weather, sunny 25 degrees.

Unfortunately, no laundry there and there was no sound insulation between adjacent rooms.

Everything was charming, quiet and cozy. The host was so kind and suggested us best places and activities around the area. He sure is a 10/10. This place is amazing for connecting all the people who stay there.

Everything was exceptional. On our first night we had early dinner there prior to the opera. It was better than any restaurant & very reasonably priced. The breakfast spread was also delicious. Laura Kalle & the whole Bjorn family were very lovely & extremely helpful. We took a canoe out on the lake which was very peaceful, no one else there. 15 minutes drive out by of Savonlinna but easy to find & countryside is beautiful

There was nothing we didn’t like. But we would just mention that you will need a car if you wish to stay on the property as it is outside of the main town centre of Savonlinna.

Location of the property, and more particularly, the attentiveness and helpfulness of our hosts who went the extra mile to help us re-schedule our bookings with the local seal safari operator due to potentially inclement weather, and who gave good recommendations of places in Savonia that we may otherwise have missed.

Breakfast was homemade from local ingredients - lot of baked products both sweet and savoury to meet many tastes. The farmhouse houses many different types of accommodation: one can choose from a hotel room standard to a more rural sleeping space to a summer cottage feel by the lake. Sauna is available at a reasonable fee at the lake site or at the farm house area. Row boats and a beach are also by the lake side. If one desires a dinner, that can be reserved a day in advance. For those wishing to take a trip to the past, the small museum next to the main building provides for that. Very functional, close to the Savonlinna centre and the opera festival and other lake side attractions, the owners are very helpful in finding your way around and assisting in getting taxi to town. Plenty of parking space, too.

The beds could have been more comfortable. Perhaps there is a need to rotate the mattresses or replace them?

The sauna by the lake was great. We enjoyed a lovely swim off the jetty. The buffet breakfast was great. The owners were so helpful and looked after us well. The kitchen was great as we cooked couple of our evening meals there. It had a big fridge where we stored our food.

This was the first place we stayed in Finland and it was a really lovely introduction to the country. It's essentially a very small holiday complex on farmland surrounded by birch forest and with a lake (and rowing boats) 15 minutes' walk away from the main house. There are two blocks of four en-suite rooms set slightly away from the farmhouse - each block with its own well equipped kitchen and seating/dining area. We were there in mid-May and were the only guests. You can also stay in the main house itself and I think there's also a cottage on the lake shore. It's about a 13 minute drive away from Savonlinna and it's about 7 minutes to the nearest big supermarket - so easy enough to get about if you have a car (not sure about public transport) but feels very rural and away from it all while you're there. Breakfast is served in the main farmhouse and is amazing. Laura, the host, does a lot of cooking and baking and it's a great opportunity to try some traditional Finnish food done well. It's a buffet with a good choice of cereals, fruit, bread, meat, fish, cheese etc plus home baked cakes. You won't go hungry. Sadly, we were there too early in the season to try out Laura's dinners so we just cooked for ourselves. Dining options are fairly limited around there although that may well be different in, say, July. We were happy to just make our own meals anyway. the bedrooms are well laid out with comfortable beds and a good shower. Everything is clean and cozy. One of the things we particularly liked about our stay was how helpful and friendly our hosts were. It was really interesting to talk to Laura and Kalle, her husband, about Finnish life and current affairs. They also helped us make some bookings and gave suggestions for hikes etc. I would really recommend this place as somewhere to stay for a few days.
