Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe could have done with more storage space as we were only a long holiday rather than a business trip. Felt like the hotel was more suited to business travel than leisure? Maybe there is a growing market for more leisure travel. It was a shame the sauna was not available on weekends. Good breeakfast.
We liked the independent, family-run vibe of the hotel, and the traditional decor. The room was great with the balcony. Free parking was much appreciated. Staff were friendly and personable.

Hotel Milton is the second oldest hotel in Jyväskylä. It’s not fancy but it has it’s charm and the location is excellent. You can park free of charge. The breakfast was nice and breakfast room was relaxing and coffee was good and there were enough choises to choose. We askel weather we could go to sauna and the lovely, helpful girl at the reception heated the sauna just for two of us. It was soooo lovely. Rooms are clean not too big , not too small, ours had a balcony as well.

PortugalI was expecting the room to be a bit more modern, but it was perfectly ok. A mini-fridge in the room would have been a good addition.
Great location. For a few days, it's perfect. Even though I felt like some complementary items were missing in the room, the staff found a way to help. The staff is very nice and available. There is a sauna available at the hotel.

FinlandIt was difficult to make dark in the room at night because of the artificial light coming from outside. The tent was not enough large to shade the room. Breakfast options were not especially diverse.
The location is perfect to reach each place in Jyväskylä. The room is comfortable and clean. Personnel is very kind and has warm attitude.

SwedenThe breakfast. It is my second time here and the breakfast is quite poor. Not much to eat and only sort of very basic things. Plus the breakfast room is very very tiny and so loud that you can even hear the other guests chewing.
The room was renovated and very nice. The view was in front of the hotel. I found parking right in front this time.

Finland- breakfast variety could be a bit better; - location was kinda loud at night (due to traffic noises) - the bedclothes were kinda "slippery" meaning it sometimes felt like you could easily slip out of bed
- breakfast was good; - sauna visits were included in the price; - staff was incredibly friendly and helpful

United KingdomRoom was cold. Breakfast choice only had eggs as hot food. No sausage, bacon etc:_. Not sure if that's the norm in Finland.

United KingdomA few simple additions to the room would go a long way, it's bizarre to go to a hotel and find no tea/coffee facilities in the room. Additionally the breakfast was very poor, just cereal and some sad looking karelian pasties.
Staff were great, room was basic but done well.

RomaniaFirst night I got a room facing a construction site, which meant that I woke early in the morning due to the noise. I asked to front desk to give another room and they gave me one overlooking the street which was away from the construction site and a bit more quiet. The room was small but had most of the amenities for a short (working) stay. Quite clean but not dusted properly.
The hotel is close to the train station and city centre. One of the days I was lucky and I got the sauna for my self, maybe there were few persons in the hotel that specific day.

SwedenI found parking place. There is a big parking place in front of the hotel. The receptionist was very kind and helped me with a problem that I had at my tire. She guided me to a mechanic that fixed my problem.
The room was very tiny but clean. Bathroom also very little . I almost couldn’t move .

IcelandThe breakfast was perhaps a little too basic. Could have offered a bit more variations, such as with fruit and spread.
I wanted a well located, modest hotel with breakfast for a down-to-earth price. That's what I got, not more, not less. The location was perfect, very localized and still very quiet. Staff was nice and polite. Nothing to complain about.

PolandTemperature in the room, price. In comparison to the other hotels it should cost a bit less cause it's really like as if time had stopped here
Close to the train station and local buses. Nice and helpful personel. Just a hint - kettle in the room would be a useful addition. In general it isn't that bad like some opinion says, but yes the price is too high

AustriaThe bed could be more comfortable. There was no refrigerator in the room, which is particularly challenging in the summer. The hotel is located beside the main road, so you can hear the noise if you keep the window open. It was good that the curtains were thicker, but I still had some problems falling asleep because of the light.
The room was extremely clean. The staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast was really good, lots of healthy options. The lobby was nice and clean as well. The hotel is located very close to the lake, train station and city centre.
