How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Was a far way from the cantor town so I would suggest a car hire
Close to the ferry wharf. Old school style guesthouse. Gave me a 12noon late checkout so that I could enjoy the morning sightseeing. The indoor pool, sauna and outdoor heard pool are fad

Impossible to take a shower without soaking the bathroom floor. The breakfast was not very good.

Breakfast was a bit thin, and the breakfast room rather utilitarian
Useful location (Mariehamn isn't a huge place so it'd be hard to find somewhere that wasn't conveniently located for town centre and ferry port). Good facilities - kitchen sink in room, swimming pool (not tested)

The pool was nice. The gym I didn’t use, but it looked good. Possibility to loan bikes and frisbees was great.

The room was suffocatingly hot, much hotter than outside air. There was a tiny fan that was a life saver, but the room needed a bigger fan and airing before check-in. Breakfast didn't seem too fresh.
Staff was very friendly. The room was dated but clean, and I liked the retro feel, down to the phone and headboard radio. Good location to ferry, and short walk to town. I liked the little seating area outside also.

Facilities a bit outdated.
Very central location (walking distance to the main sightseeings in Mariehamn), customer-oriented and very helpful staff. Ok breakfast and swimming pool.

This is an older building so there's obviously limits for refurbishment - we knew from previous reviews that the rooms were very small - indeed.
The town of Mariehamn is very walkable and enjoyable and this facility gives easy access. Our room was very clean. The included breakfast was very nice.

It's true is a bit old, but it has it's charm and doesn't matter at all. We really liked it.
Perfectly located near the ferry and close to the center. Nice view to the ship outside :) They have a kettle and a fridge. They have swimming pool, breakfast, quite big rooms with a balcony and can give a bicycle for free! Below I saw sauna and swimming pool. Luggage you also can leave for free.

Having to leave and return home.
The location was just off the centre of town with a 5 minute walk to it. It was quiet at night, no noise, so you could get a good night's sleep. The outdoor swimming pool was heated at 27 degrees and cleaned every day. Breakfast was a good choice of hot and cold food and plenty of it. The staff were very helpful and glad to help with anything that was asked for or about.

Even just a bit of fresh paint, new lighting, and updated artwork in the rooms would do a lot for the overall impression. The breakfast was a disappointing experience. Saunas only warm In the morning.
Great location, nice gym, clean rooms, friendly staff, cheap. Saunas and a pool!

There was really cold tiled floor in the room. I would like to have any carpet inside because it was so unpleasant to stay on even wearing socks.
I enjoyed the bath tube in the room, it worth everything else and covered all small things.

The gym and the sauna were not working, but it was far from surprising given the fact that the hotel was closing for winter the next day after our departure and the number of guests was very small.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The room had a nice view of the Pommern ship and was very warm.

The swimming pool was empty. Juices for breakfast were water.
Perfect location for travellers arriving by ferry. Additional bonus for bicycles, which were available for visitors use.

The location of this property was fantastic! It is close to the ferry. It has a great swimming pool. It is located at the waterfront. It is within walking distance to downtown. From our room we had a great view of the harbour. The breakfast buffet was very good, offering many choices. The staff was friendly.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfortable beds. There is a pool outside and saunas in the basement. Close to town and stores and right next to Pommern and the shore.
