Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel offers a very limited selection of food in the evening. Whilst excellent quality realistically most people would probably want to go into town to eat; so if you’re visiting during the Big Week or other festivals definitely consider making reservations elsewhere in advance.
A very comfortable and clean hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent with a very good buffet and cooked options (mainly eggs). It’s a moderate walk to the main sights of San Sebastián but buses are frequent, inexpensive with stops a few minutes walk away. Straightforward parking!

United StatesIt’s 20-25 minutes walk to the old town but almost never take a taxi or drive. We enjoy walking the streets of San Sebastián even when it rains
We stay at this hotel whenever we are in San Sebastián! We both feel that there’s some magical about it, from the room to the gardens to the staff. It makes us relax even more, we both sleep better here

CanadaUnfortunately our Air Conditioning in the room was not working on arrival, however the team was quick to enable a temporary solution on short notice which was equally as comfortable.
Spacious, tastefully decorated rooms with extremely comfortable beds and linens. The overall experience was exceptional - we enjoyed the design of the facility in our room and also in the common areas. The villa is a short 10 minute walk from the city centre, and perhaps another 10-15 minute walk beyond to the Old Town. Breakfast on the terrace was a great start to each day. All hotel staff were friendly and accommodating to provide tips and recommendations for hidden gems (Chillada Museum, best pintxos spots, etc.) which made our stay that much better. Would definitely recommend this spot!

United StatesMy one complaint was the shower…overly finicky design that made changing water temperature nearly impossible.

SpainBreakfast buffet was excellent, however we ordered poached egg and bacon; the egg was very under cooked and bacon very overcooked. The room was less spacious than we expected. The chairs were a bit uncomfortable because of the lack of back support.

BelgiumAirco was not working properly, which is a shame for such a nice hotel. I would expect this to be checked before letting the next guests use the room. The location: about 20-30min walk to the city center. For us no problem, we enjoyed the walks, but could be a disadvantage if you want to be closer to the old town. Bikes are available.
Super nice building, totally private due to the gate giving you a very safe feeling. Parking space very convenient. Very friendly and professional staff. Beautiful outside area to have a drink. Spacious room with nice rainshower

LuxembourgIts a hotel very close to one of the major roads - it‘s noisy when you gave a room facing the road ( which they will still call garden room)
The house, the exquisite breakfast service, the comfortable beds, the helpful staff. The private parking and the free bikes.

United StatesMattresses a bit too soft for us.
All around amazing place, mattress a little too soft our taste. Although out of city center, they provide bikes which was great as it allowed us to explore the city, which has great bike paths. Staff extremely helpful.

United StatesThe staff was warm, welcoming, and helpful. One, who worked the afternoon ahift, we failed to get her name, was most enthusiastic and suggested a wonderful restaurant where we had our best meal in San Sebastian.

SpainThe only thing that I would mention to improve is the food they had at the restaurant for dinner, the menu wasn't extensive and not so many nice things to chose from. What I got was still good but not to the standard of the hotel.
The staff was incredibly nice and very helpful. The room super comfy and the bed and the pillows excellent. I got a massage as well and the masseuse was super sweet, the massage was one of the best I ever had and relieved all the pains I had before going.
