Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt’s difficult, because I stayed there on a public holiday in Galicia and it was very busy, so I think they charge more, but I think slightly overpriced. I might be being unfair.

CanadaMy only negative comment is that the staff in the buffet was a little bit disorganised
The hotel was excellent including the buffet and of course their spa. The buffet had a lot of options, including warm main courses. I will definitely come back.

United KingdomThe rooms are plain and lack a minimum of decoration. We had 2 rooms and one was much cosier than the other. A couple of frames on the wall would make a difference. A bouquet of dried flowers/plants... It's obvious that the hotel is dated but some minor changes could make it nicer. Bare walls made the room a cold place to be, felt a bit like a retirement home, despite very nice curtains (the only nice feature of the rooms). That said, for the price we paid, including breakfast and spa access: it was really good value for money. We might prefer a different spa in the region next time though...
The spa, albeit a bit dated and in need of some improvements, was very nice for the money we paid. Especially the outdoor area. The breakfast was good and varied as well. The shared spaces are very nice. Walking through the ground of where the old spa used to be was really lovely. Don't miss the fountain next to the Palacio del Agua, we know it is there but you may not know as no one tells you...

PortugalSome places are in a need of urgent renovation. To have visible rotten wood just shows lack of caring. Also the dinner buffet was not worth the price paid.
The location and the termal circuit were amazing. The staff is really friendly.

SpainIt would have been good that the room cleaning had the time to make the beds with a blanket during the winter months. Also, given the average age of the guests (especially on weekdays) I'd strongly suggest a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, it's not a big ask for a 4 star hotel.
The staff were professional and attentive. The treatments in the spa are great and so is the staff. Some of its old restored buildings are magnificent. The area is beautiful for a walk by the river for example.

SpainI missed the main dining room which is being rennovated. During our prior 3 visits we were offered a glass of wine with lunch and dinner, but this visit we had to order a full bottle as an extra. Also when we booked, we didn't realize that the Palacio de Agua would not open in the mornings! One last thing, I love the richness of being in a 150 year old historic site, but I think there needs to be more upkeep of the peeling walls in the hallways.
The professional staff, the quiet nice size room with extra table and chair, the delicious meals with excellent service. The Palacio de Agua is amazing and I had one of the best massages of my life with Rocio.

United KingdomI would have liked a bottle of water an a box of tissues in the room, maybe another blanket. Very austere room. Also a modern shower would be a good idea.

United StatesStill haven't found anything I did not like...
A place to recover and disconnect in style, food is excellent, breakfast has all you need and stays open till late, checkout passed midday, the water facilities will help you release stress and get rid of muscle pain, and all of this with smiling employees who are proud to be part of this historical site.

SpainThe air conditioning in the room doesn't work, 30° at night. Mould in the water jet, broken tiles in the pool, shower head was not fixed. Mouldy somewhere, leak on the ceiling, buckets on common areas collecting water leaks, rusting doors, need some refurbishment. Spa area should provide drinking water for the after sauna.
The water palace and Celtic circuit are good, but lack maintenance. Breakfast is nice. Facial treatment and massages are quite nice! Staff in the treatment area are very friendly and professional.

SpainThe room had no air conditioning and it was 30 ° My daughter had to sleep in a fold away bed which was very uncomfortable, they didn't clean out the food or glasses in three days. And they tried to overcharge us, luckily I saw the error. And the pool guy screaming at my 5 year old daughter for being just a kid. But he did allow the adults to talk loudly. The way to the outside rooms was a maze. Sorry but won't be returning again.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The children's area was very nice and the staff very professional.

PortugalThe property's maintenance was very poor. The damage to the walls, doors, and ceilings was unacceptable for a four-star hotel. The smell of tobacco as soon we got in the room was disgusting.
The good of the property is the spa.

United KingdomThe main difficulty was Reception staff did not speak English and did not think knowing or advising on bus connections was part of their customer care, also I spent a month asking to book spa times but was advised via booking.com chat to call the hotel, when I tried calling from abroad several times they could not speak English and just hanged up. After my complain to Booking team they made an effort and sent me a link which only worked on smart phones. There is no kettle in the room, which is not common in the hotels of this level, tea and coffees are not served in the restraurant dinners and only in the bar, which is inconvenient.
The facilities and spa are very good. It is in a rural place and only limited bus network from Vigo. The food open court was very nice though and lovely food.
