How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Towels were not changed and there were not small towels for each of us. This is not that bad as we only stayed there two nights. Also, charging the phone far from the bed was not very convenient for us but this is just a detail.
Good location, between the airport and the city center, with a bus stop right in front of the hotel that can lead you to either way. Breakfast was okay, and the hotel staff was very friendly :)

The location is a bit far from the center, but the line 53 stops just in front the hotel. It takes about 40min to arrive Cibeles square.
I liked the attention of the staff and their recommendations to move around. Also, there are some restaurants and supermarket nearby.

The breakfast was too basic and tasteless.
Rooms are spacious and very clean, the bathroom is comfortable. Great location - close to the metro station and bus stop. The personel was friendly and helpful.

The wifi was below what would be expected. It frequently disconnected, was often slow and needed re-booted several times during my stay. Not suited currently to a business clientele without some improvement. The breakfast was very reasonably price during the off-season and fair during the on-season (€6 and €10 respectively). The rest of the food available was ok, but very overpriced and could do with being reviewed.
Staff were excellent! Helped us out with every issue within their power. Couldn't rate them higher. The room facilities were solid and what you'd expect for the price point. Shower was very good for the price point. On-site vending machines were very reasonably priced compared to other hotels. cleanliness was excellent. Local busses and metro stations are very reliable and well connected

The wheelchair accessible room is very spacious. The bathroom is big too, however it has a small threshold at the door.

Quite far from the city center, not many shops around. Noise isolation is not the best but it’s relevant to most of the hotels.

Uncomfortable bed. Noisy air-conditioning, not possible to regulate, it was blowing the air very loudly during the night, that was very bad during 6night stay :(

Slightly out of town - although, taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced. Facilities in the room were all entirely adequate and as advertised, but note small TV, and no tea/coffee/kettle-making facilities in the room.
Comfortable stay. Easy check-in. Fairly large room and bathroom. Reasonably located, a short taxi/bus away from the centre of town. All as advertised, and reassuringly as you would expect from a Travelodge.

The room is very basic. The WiFi is expensive, slow and cuts out / won’t work on multiple devices.
Convenient location, staff were friendly and professional, it’s clean.

The check-in process took so long (15 mins aprox) even though we arrived after 3 p.m. Also, the room was a bit cold and the A/C system was pre-selected for summer time (on the 30th of September) and it was impossible to put the heating of the A/C on. They gave us some blankets though, thankfully.
The location and the standards of the hotel in general was quite pleasant. The cost efficiency of this stay was really high.
