How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing, everything suited our needs.
Spacious apartment. Great location beside the metro with the shopping areas within walking distance. Beds very comfortable. Host was very responsive with any queries and linked in prior to arrival with suggestions of where to eat during our stay. Would definitely stay again.

The shower fitting was a hassle- kept sliding down the fitting- very lucky to get water spraying in the right direction- would be great if could replace. Because the location is central you have street noise at all hours of the night even with shutters and curtains closed- especially on weekend, can’t be helped and can be normal when staying central
Location is close to metro train and to city centre. Beautiful big apartment huge spaces and nicely decorated. Kitchen had everything we could need and clean. Staff were amazing and very helpful and quick to respond.

It is not a quiet location, homeless people hang out around. The bar and restaurant downstairs are noisy all night. The wall insulation is minimal, if your neighbours come back at 2pm, the noise is unbearable.
Spacious rooms, almost all utensils you need. The location is convenient to city centres in walking distance.

Shower head and riser rail could do with replacement. Frying pans non-stick layer lifting off - need replacing.
Excellent location in good neighbourhood. Within easy reach of everything including 24h supermarket. Felt safe and secure in comfortable apartment where all essentials were provided and everything was easy to navigate.

Like in any other major city, there may be some homeless people in the area, but the apartment itself is quite secure.
Its at the center of madrid!!! You can walk to puerta del sol, plaza mayor, plaza de santa anna, and mercado de san miguel etc. everything is so accessible and the staff is so nice and accommodating

You can hear noise from the neighbors moving on the stairs. The main entrance door should be changed, as it is quite old.
The location of the apartment. The space and the rooms. The fact that it had two bathrooms and a kitchen. The space is perfect for large families, and it is quiet and cold, perfect for travel during hot months. We enjoyed the host, received tips where to eat and go. We loved the place. For sure we will come back to this location.

Convenient location, within walking distance to Puerto de Sol and Plaza Mayor. Numerous restaurants nearby. The apartment was clean. Good provision of kitchen appliances and toiletry items. Emilio was very responsive and helpful which made our stay very enjoyable.

Big and strange noise by lots of homeless in front of apartment. Difficult to open the window because of those homeless. (though it's 1st floor but it's too close with them and relatively low. we didn't feel we were secure when we opened the window) Uncomfortable atmosphere around apartment because of those homeless. My wife and daughter were very reluctant to go out because of them (much more than 10~) Except them this place was good.
Enough space for my family(3 people). Very close to metro Big hypermarkets close to apartment. Good restaurant around the apartment
