How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Bed was a bit firm for my taste, but not a big problem at all.
The building is historic and amazing on the outside, and the apartment is remodeled and beautiful on the inside with balconies. The owner is incredibly helpful with anything you need. It is in the heart of the town on the inside of the wall, and everywhere is easily walkable. If we ever get to go back to Ávila, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Washing machine but nowhere to hang washing.....
Location was superb, nearby secure parking, good supply if bars and restaurants, would definitely return. Great to have someone to meet and greet us, thank you Julian....and thank you for the little treats left for us

All was excellent!
First, the host, Ben was extremely helpful and very gracious. Apt. It’s located inside of the old city, and easy to walk and get to sites. The apt. is very nice, modern, cleaned and with great “ energy”. I will come back there and will recommend to friends. Private Parking was of great help 👍

Everything was amazing! The place is adorable, it’s in an excellent location, the host is so gracious and gave great recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc… we loved it. And there were croissants, bread, coffee capsules and water waiting for us upon our arrival. Oh and not to mention parking!!

I just loved this apartment in the old city. It had everything. It was warm, comfortable, elegant and had a view of a majestic old church. It was very convenient to most places of interest.

The appartement was big and clean in the middle of Avila. We had no problem to contact the host and she was waiting for us on the street. The parking was very close, about 200m from the apartment, but with small places, so you have to know how to park well. There were few things waiting for us in the flat - water, bread and some small cupcakes, which was nice Small kitchen with just enough things to be comfortable.

Benedicto made us feel extremely welcome right from the start, from allowing us an early check-in, then explaining everything we needed to know about Ávila. His recommendations were spot on! Property was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed. Location is perfect, right in the center of Ávila.

The location was awesome at 2 min walk from all sites of interest in Avilla. The host was very welcoming. He showed us a map of the city and gave us all the tips and adresses for good shops, restaurants, and monuments. It saved us so much time. The appartment is very clean and comfortable too with a nice view on San Juan's basilica.

Great location! The apartment is ample, modern and bright. You have all the commodities you need. The host is ever so nice and flexible. He'll give you a lot of info and goodies for breakfast. Would come back again no doubt!

Nothing to complain about, keep up the good work, Benedicto!
Benedicto is the best host you could dream of. Friendly, helpful, he welcomed us with a bottle of wine, bread, croissants and a few bottles of water. The location is just perfect, in the very centre of the town, and the garage is situated a few steps from the entrance to the building (and it is big which is not very common in Spain). The beds were very comfortable.

The lounge is really uncomfortable. As an apartment would’ve been great to have some basic condiments, such as, oil, vinegar, salt & pepper. Instructions for the washing machine would’ve been great as well as drying rack, which came later after hanging the undies in the window!
Was comfy apartment. Good to be able to self cater. Was quiet, most of the time.
