Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicI think everything was as described! So there was nothing I did not like
Location was great! Room was quirky! I think that's the only way to describe it. But if you're after a nice place for a night or two to get some star gazing in - this is a perfect spot!

NetherlandsGreat location and we were able to check in a little early, but the cleanliness needs to be improved especially in the bathroom. During the day the room was very cold and the water was barely warm. There is some definite issues with plumbing - the room and some general areas had the smell of stagnant water and dampness. Passable if no other options available, but not for a long stay.

ItalyThe room was incredibly cold. The shower was cold as well. Fixable, yes, but even after waiting 30/60 minutes the situation did not change.
The place was clean. The check-in very easy to do and the people replied very fast when we contacted them.

United KingdomDue to the design of the upper floor, you can hear sounds from the other bedrooms eg if someone else is talking or snoring, but that did not bother me after a few minutes.
This hotel rural exudes the charm of a real home in the town and still has echoes of when a family lived here. There was as common room for making tea or coffee and a lovely verandah to relax at the end of the day. Best of all it is the closest place to stay to Teide National Park. There is a great little grocery store across the street and several restaurants a few minutes walk away.

Poland- water in the shower very lukewarm, not hot at all - at the end of January the room temp was probably around 15 - not more - keep that in mind if you travel in winter as it’s clearly uncomfortable and there’s no aircon/ radiator - WiFi works ONLY in the hall - the room/bathroom are quite old and need a renovation for sure
- location is great + many shops/cafes around - the room was clean - perfect for 1 night or a longer stay during summer - coffee/ tea + microwave and snacks for free in the kitchen

NetherlandsThere was way to much fabric softener or room spray or something used on our bed, it smelled very strong and me and my husband had trouble breathing all night because of it. There was no window to open so it was very difficult to get fresh air, we would've probably gotten better sleep in the car. The common room were the coffee was also smelled odd but this was not too much of an issue since it was nicer to sit on the patio anyway. If there was not so much room spray or whatever it would've gotten a solid 9 or so.
The patio and included coffee and cookies were awesome!

BelgiumNothing really I didnt like. Maybe just one thing, I thought the hotel had a parking space but it hasn't. But you can park 200 meters further on the communal parking space of the village. That could have been explained better (or maybe I overlooked that info)
This hotel is self check-in. After you book, the owner sends you the info for self check-in. Hotel is located at the centre, in front is a small store. Also a very good restaurant (los cipreses) is closeby. I had a room with own shower and toilet. There is a shared living room with free coffee, tea and cookies.

RomaniaCold! Very cold! There is no heating, apart from hot water, the doors are built for summer months and some guests keep the patio door open at night, which makes the whole inside cold.
The hotel is easily accessible either by car or by public transport, both the parking lot and bus stop are about 150m away

ItalyThe bed was not clean... I had to clean it myself to convince myself to sleep in, and I am accustomed to sleep in bivouacs in the mountains..... if it was not for that I would had given 9/10 The bathroom in common was ok and clean, no problem Rooms with little soundproofing
Very good position especially if you are going to Teide, in a great small town with nice options for dinner; simple check-in; good living room with tables tea coffe...

HungaryThe room was a bit small, but still adequate for the two of us for the one night we stayed.
It was a small but comfortable room, in the village closest to the plateau of Mount Teide (coming from the south side of the island). We took advantage of this, and drove back to the Teide National Park at night to go stargazing. The self check in went quite smoothly.
