Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsShortage of staff in most restaurants thus long waiting lines even for restaurants booked in advance: Pangea, Nami, Duo. Only Terrace and Bistro were perfect. Not enough umbrellas on the beach and near the pool.
Exceptional swimming pools, amazing breakfast at Red Level area. Delicious cuisine and top notch service at Terrace and Bistro restaurants. Staff is very helpful and kind in general.

GuernseyThe Red level aspect of the stay was great. Conversely what we didn’t like was the lots of children, noise etc. in the communal areas. After a few days we learnt to avoid those.
Excellent location. Good service, Good room and facilities

The red level adults only area of the hotel was excellent. Room was perfect, including the balcony whirlpool bath that you could arrange for your butler to prepare for you! Breakfast was very good. Drinks (including wine and beer) and snacks were available free of charge from the lounge all day. Some nice local restaurants 5-10min walk for dinner.

United KingdomThe hotel is located next to a quiet town. Not a problem, as it encouraged us to do a few long walks along the promenade and if you time it right you can watch the spectacular sunset as you walk. Then get a cab back. But might be worth including evening meal (we didn’t) to give you more options and either hire a car or factor in a few cabs (quite cheap)
Possibly the nicest hotel we’ve stayed in! The staff were so friendly and helpful, from management to cleaners. It was beautifully clean and finished to such a high spec. But the attention to detail is what steals the show. They’ve thought of everything - from the superb breakfast overlooking the ocean (for Red Level guests) to the padded sun loungers. Definitely worth going for Red Level!

United KingdomDid not like the big central plaza feature, which housed several restaurants, it felt like being in a shopping mall!! Terrible acoustics, not relaxing to sit in and it housed the only available bar open in the evening. We would usually sit on the terrace outside this which was lovely except for children running around, using the central rock feature as a play area. Also several nights a week there was loud music blasting out (not relaxing whilst watching the sunset before dinner. We expected more when choosing the Red Level. The Clarins spa was fabulous, had 3 superb treatments, great staff and facilities. Our room was great but the lighting system was very complicated, kept coming on in the middle of the night, and when we came back after being out. At first we thought we had done something wrong (so many switches and settings). After 3 days we asked to move rooms which was handled beautifully and the new room worked fine. We like a cup of tea in the morning, but there was no milk provided in the room, there were creamer capsules for coffee but no milk. We thought this was an oversight, but when we requested milk, we were going to be charged €5 for a small jug of milk from room service. Husband got really bothered about this, surely we are not the only tea drinkers? The hotel blurb states that there are several bars but in the evening (when you want one) there is only the one for everyone as above. No Red Level bar. Restaurants were OK, not fabulous.
Beautifully landscaped and impeccably maintained. Very clean everywhere. Staff were all without exception, friendly, helpful and polite.

SwitzerlandIt's promoted as an adults-only hotel, however it is part of a huge hotel complex which is not adults only. You only get access to certain adults only facilities such as one pool and 2 restaurants. Our suite was not in the adults only section, it was located near the entertainment area of the whole hotel, which deprives you from peace and quiet. Additionally, we heard many children screaming in the hallway, outside of our suite. The room was totally overpriced - we've stayed at way more stylish + state of the art suites all over the world for less money which were located in expensive areas (right by the Santa Monica pier, Bangkok etc.). Further: parking garage very small, fitness room too small for the size of the hotel, access badge to garage didn't work, way too many sun beds very close to each other around the adults only pool which doesn't match the procclaimed exclusivity.
Great breakfast with huge selection, large infinity pool, really nice lobby, beautiful garden decor with exotic plants, friendly staff, free parking

SpainPrice of the wine in the restaurants, a £8 bottle was 80 euro in the Italian, one meal was amazing the other meal not so good.
Loved this property, we had the red level stay, we had 3 days without the kids so it was great, really nice staff lovely rooms, first time at a melia hotel and would highly recommend, I have been trying to find a high level hotel on Tenerife as it can be quite untidy, this hotel made you feel like you was in Dubai. We did travel in mid December so was very quiet so probably a different experience to most.

IrelandAbility to book restaurants via the app was frustrating until we learned we could book via the Red Level staff. This solved the issue for us.
The room, pools, and most importantly the Sports hub, Gym and Spa were all excellent. David and the team in the sports hub kept us moving with Padel, Spinning (including pool spinning) and functional fitness. Excellent.

SwitzerlandThere are queues at the restaurants, especially at breakfast times (the situation is better for RedLevel-only facilities, but in common facilities the queues are way too long to be ignored). The sunbeds at the RedLevel pool were often occupied with empty towels from early morning, which was not regulated in any way. There were not enough spots to fit all the guests, so we had to go to common pool area quite often.
Great location near the city of Alcala, with the beach nearby, and beautiful walkable surroundings. Great pools in the hotel, nice sports facilities (good gym and tennis courts), attentive and helpful staff, good food for breakfast and in the restaurants, the hotel territory has a lot of trees and greenery. Our room with the terrasse on the ground floor was clean, comfortable and had a great view. We also had several nice bonuses such as a free one-hour apero in the afternoon, free snacks and coffee throughout the day, a free tennis session and discounts for spa.

SwitzerlandThe red level club pool has all sunbeds reserves by towels early in the morning, by 9 latest, I never found a place to sit there so wondered what I was paying for (except for breakfast in a nicer part). I asked staff and they said yes, it’s a problem but what can we do. People would leave towels on beds for hours and not be there… I ended up always sitting by the adults only pool in the main complex, which anyway (except kids) can go to. I could just about find room there except the last day. The one time I found a place at the ‘club’ it was on a Balinese daybed and I was told they are extra and have to be reserved. The food is also not good. Oasis bar meal (turbot at 32 euros) was awful, steak and Asian restaurants better but not amazing food. I never tried the main family restaurant …
Very nice room, lots of space and a good shower. Big wardrobes and sufficient storage. Bed and pillows were comfy and I sometimes very well. Several pools and fairly well kept gardens with lovely plants, flowers and sculptures. As a red level guest, you have access to everywhere whereas other guests must stick to the family / general areas. Clarins spa - both staff and treatment - were excellent. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to deal with.

Our stay was amazing, from arrival to departure. Everything was great. The stuff really really friendly, especially Mohammed, he was always smiling and in such a good mood (everyday!!) he also made me smile when I was so sad when we had to checkout. Big compliments! ❤️ Tip: go to the big breakfast arrea, there you find a big selection of food in the morning (fresh churros, fresh smoothies & fruit, eggs etc).

BelgiumThe village where the hotel is located is very small and it is best to have a car in case you would like to explore more from the island. You need to plan ahead and make reservations for most restaurants - also the ones that are in the village.
We spent a week in the adults only section (Red Level) and it was wonderful and very relaxing. Staff was very helpful and tried to meet all needs. The endless pool is amazing and there are good sports classes and a good fitness center. The beach area was also very nice and I like the little café there for lunch. Our room was very spacious and quiet. The restaurants are good but you have to book in advance. The terrace for the sundowner is nice and there was good music.
