Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere wasn’t much in the way of dining options very close to the hotel. In fact the area was somewhat dead.
Location was right next to train station, which was convenient for me as I came by train from Madrid. It was a bit of walk into town, but only took about 20 minutes. Room was spacious and clean.

United KingdomLimited space for sitting downstairs if you were early for your train.
Perfect situation, opposite the train station. In the heat, it was good not to have to carry our bags far. No time at all to walk to the old town. Loved all the moorish decoration throughout the hotel.

United States* Noisy: Bring your earplugs. If your room faces the train station, you'll hear traffic from the main road. If you have sensitive hearing, request a room facing the other direction. The walls and ceiling are thin. You can hear people moving and talking in the rooms next to you. If there are children in the room above you and they're running around, you can hear them. The floors are made of tiles. Noise travels very well. If somebody is rolling a suitcase in the hallway early in the morning or late at night, the night noise could wake you up. Unsafe: Even though the phone worked, when I dialed #9 to reach the receptionist, the receptionist never got my phone calls. So I had to walk downstairs. But if you have an emergency and you can't walk, you need the phone to work! At night, there's nobody at the front desk and you have the choice of either calling the hotel headquarters in Granada (another city) or to call the police. Unclear directions about the safe: The directions don't tell you that you have to pay 10 euros to the receptionist to get a key to actually work the safe. The receptionist did not inform me of this when I did my check in. Tobacco smell at reception desk: The young man who works at the reception in the mornings and afternoons is a smoker. The smell of cigarette smoke is on his clothing and you can smell it in the reception area. The management needs to inform this person to wear a jacket or something that he wear while smoking and remove it so that his other clothes don't smell like cigarette smoke and disturb guests. Hot water: There wasn't always hot water available.
* Great location in front of the train station * Walking distance to the historic center, many shops and restaurants.

United KingdomThere is no restaurant in the hotel but nearby are a number of bars and restaurants that can provide food. The walk to Toledo requires a long walk up but the escalator is available for the faint hearted, ask in the hotel.
Old style hotel in design situated close to the historic centre of Toledo and the railway station from Madrid. The rooms are well appointed.

NetherlandsThis is a comfortable and really well-located, affordable hotel. The room quite spacious and pretty and comfortable. The location is literally a minute from the train station - it's outside of the old city centre, but that's actually quite nice because it makes travel by train really easy (especially since you don't have to take your bags uphill and through narrow old streets) and because it feels quite special to enter the old city via the old bridge, so we actually enjoyed the short walk to and from the city, and also enjoyed being able to leave the tourist crowds behind when we left the city centre.
