The breakfast was not great with a few dry biscuits, cake, toast and an apple.

There was no body about when we arrived however they had left a key out for us. The room was nice and comfortable.

While the property is generally in good state, the insulation is catastrophic, you can literally hear everything from next room, even the slightest noise. The breakfast is a fair continental choice however the coffee is not good and so important in the morning especially when you are in a village that doesn’t have any other option. Also, the amenities are poor, some bad smelling soap in a little sachet.

The location of the house is nice, only 10 km away from the buzz of Comillas but you need a car to reach. The very nice gentleman at the desk too.

Out of season you’ll need to travel for dinner. But, the restaurants/cafe/bars nearby are utterly brilliant.

A little fridge and coffee making facilities in room would be an advantage as there is no café, shop or restaurant in walking distance.

Location, quiet and tranquil Posada with easy access to Cuevas Altamira, Santillana, Comillas, San Vincente de la Barquera and cute local villages nearby. Plenty of breakfast, savoury and sweet options, good coffee and yummy fresh lemon juice from neighbour village. Farmland with donkeys, horses, cows and sheep around the village.

If you are arriving on foot or bicycle ( the hotel is on the camino) then check in advance if the restaurant is open for dinner. There are limited other local options for dinner.

There is absolutely nothing in the area. We were not familiar with the neighborhood and when we reached there, everywhere was closed. In the hotel, you can't even find a bottle of water. The restaurant works only for breakfast. We had to go to a gas station to buy some food as dinner. I recommend installing a vending machine so that people can survive and for sure will increase the satisfaction of the costumers. And for the breakfast, there is nothing special in it. I think they can improve it by adding more options.

It is located in a fantastic village and you can walk to the ocean, enjoying the beautiful landscape. The staff members, especially the ladies in the restaurant, were very friendly. The breakfast is also good.

When we arrived there was nobody there to check us in with no instructions. If to hadn't been for a fellow guest letting us through the main door and pointing out the phone number to call, we wouldn't have had a place to stay for the night. We had no response from the contact/emergency numbers provided by Booking.com One of the feature photos is the outdoor terrace with a view of the river next to the breakfast area, however, we were not allowed to have our coffee out there. The breakfast was mostly cake and pastries with an apple and tons of coffee.

Location was nice next to a little river and some donkeys in a traditional town. There was parking on site. The room was spacious with many beds!

We arrived at check in time but there was no one in the hotel. Some keys had been left in reception, but none with our name. After a phone call, the proprietor arrived, we wanted to eat having travelled all day, but the restaurant is only open for breakfast, we were recommended a nearby restaurant, but it wasn't dog friendly, so we had to find another place & being rural, most places were closing. Our room was in the attic, no air con, it was unbearable hot. You cannot get a drink as the proprietor doesn't live on site, luckily we had some bottles of water as there is nothing close by. Everything about this place is a bit shabby & unloved. Breakfast was OK, prepacked cake, a apple that had been sitting there gathering dust from the day before and half a toasted sandwich. I had the feeling the proprietor couldn't care less about his guests and I wouldn't return.

The location was picturesque and the hotel was charming, although in need of some tlc.

We had not realised that the restaurant only provided breakfast which was the same each day. It would have been nice to eat there or nearby in the evening but the only places to eat were a short car drive away.

The accommodation was what we needed and was at a reasonable price. Friendly welcome and helpful staff.

We had trouble unlocking the front door when we returned from dinner around 10:30 PM; the lock can be a bit difficult to operate. Make sure you know how it works if you're going to be returning late at night.

Our primary reason for visiting the area was to go to the Altamira Cave Museum. Trisileja en Puente Romano is a very pleasant, small hotel with character about 15 min away from the tourist zone surrounding the cave site. Our room was simple but comfortable. The breakfast was very good with excellent coffee and fresh lemonade. Alina provided a recommendation of a place about 5 min away for dinner that was very good.

Unfortunately when we arrived there was no one at reception. We waited for about half an hour then summed up the courage to ring the number left by the receptionist, which immediately went to voicemail. We decided to walk to the waterfalls instead of wasting time waiting. An hour or two later we returned; still no one there, however this time the owner did answer his phone. He turned up 10 minutes later. It's worth mentioning that no English is spoken in this hotel (fair enough, it is Spain after all!) So if your Spanish is like ours, i.e. basically nonexistent, you might want to consider going somewhere else. The room was bad. It was the only downstairs room, right next to reception, and we could hear every word spoken there and in the restaurant. The first night, the owner had a loud gathering that went on until quite late. We could also hear whenever anyone else in the building flushed their toilet!

The breakfast was good, we particularly enjoyed the homemade lemonade. It's very bread-based though with not a lot of options, but good for the price. Good coffee too. The bed was very comfy. The location was beautiful, if you go here you must visit molino de bolao - a nice short walk away and so pretty. We also liked the donkeys in the field across the river :)
