Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNoise in the rooms. Dinner. Stuff serving the dinner. Bar and Restaurant were too cold to feel comfy.
Breakfast, garden and view amazing! Rooms also- but you hear your neighbour snoring which is not aceptable in this price range. Dinner was expensive and not good at all. Stuff was funcioning but not welcoming. The only plus is the fantastic view, garden and the house itself. Also as mentioned the yummy Breakfast Buffet.

This Parador was in the perfect place for our early flight the next morning. Loved walking round the beautiful gardens with stunning views down to the sea and Santa Cruz. We had a very good dinner in the evening and an exceptionally good breakfast before leaving.

United KingdomNice room BUT don't stay in a room above the kitchen ie 250. Early morning and late evening noise levels very high from below. Bar very uninviting, no atmosphere. Ate twice in restaurant and food very average. Ate out in town after that, lots of choice.
Comfortable room and bed. Nice view towards the sea.

FranceThe hotel should spread out the guests if possible, especially when the hotel is not busy, as the neighbouring guests were loud.
The rooms are spacious, well equipped, clean, and some balconies have a beautiful ocean view. The hotel has a very nice garden too.

CanadaOn our second night, the restaurant was very short-staffed and there was no sign of management to deal with the situation. The two servers were run off their feet.
An old-fashioned ambiance and a beautiful botanical garden and grounds. Very helpful front desk staff. Good quality food at dinner time.

United KingdomWe would have liked more choice on the menu for vegetarians. For example, on the dinner menu the only choice for vegetarians throughout our five night stay was vegetable lasagne. That was also on the lunch menu. If there had been more choice we would not have had to go out for dinner most evenings.
Nice hotel and room, great view out over lovely hotel gardens and the sea, room had enclosed terrace. Helpful and friendly staff

SwitzerlandThe bed is tiny despite the huge room. The pool could use more shades area, and the gym is very poor; in a basement with no windows and old machinery. The restaurant and bar are ridiculously overpriced - 6 euros for beer when everywhere else on the island is 1.5-2 euros. We had a very disappointing salad and veggie burger at the bar and a slightly less disappointing dinner, but still small portions and not particularly tasty for the price.
Beautiful building with wide open spaces and a spectacular view down the hill and out to sea. Staff were all extremely friendly, especially the hardworking restaurant/bar team who are shockingly on shift from early breakfast to late night dinner. Booked the most basic room category and it was huge, with some nice antique furniture. Pool is very nice. The parador is a 10 minute drive uphill, so you do need a car but the are nice hikes that can be reached straight out the back door. Breakfast was very good.

NorwayNex time I will make sure to have a room at the front building, because the wiew is at its best there. I also had some very noisy neighbours, taking in telephones on the veranda an had loud guests in their room til latter midnight. This can happen everywhere, but tired from a long journey I fell asleep without complaining. The wiew of the moon and the stars as well as the beautiful architecture of this paradore made me feel very grateful
I particularly liked the sunrise, the morning walk in the magic garden, the breakfast served on the veranda and the magnificent helpful and kind staff. This made may first night on the island perfect. Just a short drive up from the airport. Next time I will certainly stay longer as it is just a short drive down to a beautiful beach.

SwitzerlandThe room decoration was good but detailed maintenance was lacking eg. our balcony door jammed, the wardrobe door couldn’t be properly closed, a handle on another door was missing, one of the lampshades was stuck together with tape, the bedroom doorframe was coming away from the wall and when we reported that the safe wasn’t working nothing was done. The food in the restaurant was good but the menu never changed. Bar prices were extremely expensive eg. €10.00 for a simple toasted sandwich.

BelgiumThe outdoor pool was only open from 11 am to 7 pm. As we like to swim before starting and after our daily hike, more extended hours will be greatly appreciated.
Staying in a parador is not just staying in a hotel. This was the second parador we stayed in. Unlike other paradors that are vested in a restored historical building this one seems to be built new but in an authentic traditional Canadian style with the characteristic white walls and wooden balcony. Away from mass tourism, it offers peace, space and comfort. Every corner is furnished with style. The location, with its magnificent sea view and extended garden with rich selection of plants, is superb. We enjoyed the great view from our room and also at the breakfast and dinner table. The staff were very kind, helpful and flexible. Upon request they were always happy to prepare a table on the terrace. Both breakfast and dinner offer a great variety and quality, highly recommended to try them to enjoy the stay fully. The receptionist was very helpful in finding an arrangement for all our needs. We'll definitely return.
