Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PortugalOverall, Everything was great. The wifi was not fast, at least on my phone (i have an iphone and sometimes the connection is worse when comparing with other brands). I used data almost all the time - maybe it has to do with the house we stayed in. And the sheets on the bed could be larger because we couldnt put them bellow the matress properly so they were easily loose. But these are small things, actually.
The propertly is lovely and we really liked the time we spent there. Also, the bed is amazing so was great for rest. Having garage is a plus, since it is not easy to park in the city center.

He also advised on good local places to eat and where we could pick up groceries. The whole building is exceptional and the rooftop terrace with wonderful views, combined with garage parking only add to the experience. Highly recommend.

GibraltarThere wasn't anything I didn't like. The only improvement would be that the fridge had a freezer compartment shelf at the top so we could put ice in.
Great location quick and easy walk to the Fundador, Cathedral and main part of town. Good spacious room, very clean and with everything we needed. Free parking space a plus. Host was excellent.

PortugalWe would have liked a larger (Superking) size bed in the main bedroom. Apart from that, everything was perfect.
The host, Laurent, met us on arrival. He was exceptionally helpful throughout our stay. The property is modern, well furnished and equipped, and attractively decorated. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Heating/air conditioning works perfectly. There is a large TV with many channels and apps. The garage is integral to the building, spacious and easily accessed. This is is rare and is an excellent feature, as parking would otherwise have been a major issue. The location is ideal for exploring the city on foot, being close to the Cathedral and Alcazar. It is also ideal for exploring the surrounding area by car. There is an excellent roof terrace with stunning views of the city and cathedral. We very much enjoyed our stay and intend to return soon!

United StatesThat we didn't stay here longer and take advantage of this beautiful property to explore more of the area in Cadiz provence around Jerez. We will need to make another trip back.
First and foremost, Laurent was an amazing host and made sure we felt welcome in his beautiful home. It was wonderful to speak with him about his knowledge and passion for the area. He made our visit so much better than we could have possibly imagined. Our apartment was lovely. As part of a new building it was so nice to have modern amenities and everything in working order. It was so inviting and comfortable that we chose to spend one of our evenings just having a fun family night in the apartment. The upper terrace are is the absolute icing on the cake with great views day and night. Now for the location, we drove to Jerez and it was great to have a location so easy to access by car. The private parking garage was a great asset. In addition to driving convenience, Palacio Duende is in an amazing location for walking access to all of the main attractions in Jerez. It's literally right across the street from Bodega Fundador, only a few minutes walk to Gonzales Byass/Tio Pepe, Bodegas Tradicion, cathedral, alcazar, and many great restaurants. We had a great time and will most definitely stay here again!

IrelandOur time at Palacio El Duende Jerez exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived until our departure, the entire experience was flawless. The owner, Laurent, is a gem of a host—warm, attentive, and always ready with expert advice on what to see, where to dine, and how to truly enjoy the best that Jerez has to offer. His kindness, professionalism, and thoughtful recommendations made our stay all the more special. Laurent’s genuine hospitality left a lasting impression on us, and we felt incredibly well-cared for throughout our visit. Location: You couldn’t ask for a better spot! The apartment is in a peaceful area, yet just a short walk to the vibrant city center. Everything you need is within easy reach—fantastic restaurants, charming cafés, historic sites, and local shops. Plus, you’re only a 14-minute drive from the stunning beaches! The location perfectly balances tranquility and convenience, making it ideal for any traveler. The Apartments: Simply beyond expectations! Immaculately clean and equipped with everything you could need—fully functioning kitchen, a fridge, comfortable bed, and cozy linens. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect. We particularly appreciated the underground parking, a rare and valuable amenity in Jerez. Not only is it free of charge, but it also provides direct access to the apartment, which was incredibly convenient. The Terrace: The cherry on top! The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views of the cathedral and the charming old town, transporting you to another era. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the magical ambiance of Jerez. We spent hours on the sun loungers enjoying the views and the peaceful atmosphere. Overall: Our stay at Palacio El Duende Jerez was nothing short of extraordinary. Everything, from the location to the facilities, was impeccable, but it was Laurent’s warmth and attention to detail that truly made our stay memorable.

United KingdomThe fact that we weren’t there long enough to make full use of the terrace and see more of Jerez.
The location of the property couldn’t have been better. Barely 10 minute walk to the entrance of Bodegas Fundador, home to Harvey’s Bristol Cream Sherry (amongst others), which offers tours and tastings (some paired with food), and not even a 5 minute walk to their restaurant - both highly recommended. In the opposite direction you can be at the cathedral in 5 minutes, and on to explore more of the city. There are so many things to see within Jerez, and if you’ve got a car you could keep yourself busy for days visiting villages, towns and cities within easy driving distance. The property itself was clean, well cared for, nicely furnished and decorated, well equipped with everything you need for a stay away from home. Laurent, the owner/host, was keen to share his love of Jerez and spent time highlighting to us places to see and visit. Three key things you won’t find in many apartment buildings in the centre of a city - a lovely courtyard, an ideal place to sit and read with a glass of something; an underground car park, free and for the sole use of those staying in the apartment; and a roof top terrace, complete with sun loungers. It ticked all of our boxes!
