Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThere should be more rules from the administration for the guests to clean the kitchen area after using and tell them to be quiet when people are having their meals

United KingdomThe area behind my bed was filthy, and you cannot sit up on the lower bunk bed so it's very uncomfortable except for sleeping.
Beautiful building in the old town up cobbled streets. Close to everything and just a 10 minute bus ride from the Alhambra. Great kitchen with all the facilities and an area with tables and chairs, an inner and an outer courtyard, and a rooftop terrace. Friendly, helpful staff. Great value for money, would definitely recommend.

ItalyReally don't get the gap between the beds and the wall, which is pretty dangerous if you are on the top bunk No shelf / basket near the top shelf to put essentials (glasses, phone...). I literally had to scoot down the bed to sleep, so I wouldn't accidentally detarch the charger Noise. The terrace is open until 23:00, fine if it wasn't for the fact that people's loud inconsiderate voices can be heard upstairs. The group then moved into the kitchen which, with the door open (and something wedged under to prevent it from closing), meant that they could still be heard. I feel like the receptionist / a worker should have enforced the quiet hours. I feel like the number of toilets is not very high. While only once did I have to wait to use them (but I was up at 5am, and back at 10pm), they still feel not a lot. One in a 10 bed dorm, 1 next to the kitchen and 1 next to the bar. Only 1 WiFi bar on the bed. If I wanted to organise and use my phone normally, I had to go downstairs.
Position excellent, easy to pop by to grab / leave something Kitchen open 24h (and not ridiculous 9-22 that I have been to in the past)

United StatesOffers amenities like laundry services, close proximity to all the tourist locations. The hostel has a very cozy almost tropical interior that makes it feel very comfortable and warm. I also shared rooms with travelers who were backpacking Europe which I thought was cool following the hostel’s namesake.
Located in an islamic influenced part of Granada and at the base of the “Mirador de San Miguel Alto” which has some of the most scenic views overlooking the entirety of Granada and the Alhambra. Oasis Backpackers hotel was a very cozy place.

Czech RepublicIt was a very pleasant stay overall. The staff is very friendly and can speak English, everything is clean and the location is SUPERB (getting to the cathedral took around 3 minutes for me, on foot). The room was very simple, bunk beds style, but it's perfect for travellers who spend the whole day outside anyway. Bathroom was nice and clean.

HungaryThe lockers didn't have an actual lock on them. The room was very small for 4 people. The location isn't the best, a bit hard to get to. There was a man who seemed to be living there on a regular basis.
The staff was helpful. The shared room had its own bathroom. The wifi worked well, and the AC wasn't needed because there was a nice breeze coming from the window. The kitchen was well-equipped and spacious.

Lovely staff, great place that was always clean. Perfect location in the centre of the old town. Free tea and coffee, good facilities to cook and store food, nice outdoor areas. The first room I stayed in was a really good size and so was the bathroom and shower .

NetherlandsThe only downside to the hostel is that it's a little bit noisy, but that's easily fixable with earplugs :) Also, you will need to take the main road to the hostel (through the shops) as some other streets are a little uncomfortable and dark.
The hostel was located really near the city centre and in the nicest, most beautiful neighbourhood of Granada. The room looked like a traditional Spanish house, which was really cute. The beds were quite comfortable and we had lots of storage space for suitcases and everything. The hostel also organised a lot of fun trips and had a big kitchen where you could prepare your food comfortably.
