How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Old rooms with MANY ANTS ALL over - both inside the room (in the kitchen, in our beds and even in our suitcases) which heavily influenced the quality of our stay

Verified reviewVery friendly staff. Location was good only 5mins from main street. Good selection of food. Rooms cleaned every day. Evening entertainment was ok but over by 10pm.
There are 2 sittings for evening meal, 6.00 -7.30 and 7.30 -9pm. You must choose when you check in. It appears you can request a change. Also the dining room is very noisy but staff are great. We had ants in the apartment which was dealt with but they appeared again. Also the street outside is very busy from about 6.30am-midnight. Cleaning staff start around 7am so little chance of sleep in! This is predominately a German hotel and there was no English news channel on TV

No views from apartment window other than very overgrown greenery, so close to the balcony it was claustrophobic overlooking a very busy road, many flies in room, smell of sewerage in apartment , very noisy in corridors outside room and above although staff kindly offered alternative room we simply couldn’t face moving, as we had the unfortunate experience of breakfast chaos and very poor coffee and boxed ‘fresh’ juice it was very disappointing then the evening buffet was atrocious, cooked by amateurs, I watched the ‘chef’ destroy perfectly good pieces of fresh tuna overcooking to a degree I’ve never seen in catering. So many burnt offerings of excessively deep fried food and ‘packet rice’ although salad looked ok. The turkey and chips were cold although I brought it to the server’s attention no apology was made neither was the food exchanged no one temperature checked the buffet at any stage. The final straw was the poolside lunch …consisted of undercooked burger served with almost raw bacon, we asked for it to be cooked more after the second time it was adequate however the fries were cold. The chicken wrap consisted of overcooked breaded chicken and poor quality salad. Most of the bar servers at the poolside bar favoured customers who were not English and the measures dispensed were not consistent, the music was not to our taste and our final disappointment was the need for guests to put their towels on the sun beds then leave for a good length of time not allowing anyone else to use them. I wouldn’t say it was 4 star . Sadly lacking charisma.

Verified reviewWe loved this hotel, such a lovely atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff, wonderful pool, fantastic room and great breakfast buffet in a perfect location for the town and beach. We would love to stay again.
We were not keen on people smoking, if there could be a an area of the hotel where people would not smoke on their balconies that would be brilliant. If there could be a non smoking rule around the pool that would be brilliant too.

Sometimes it was hard to find a sunbed as there were so many people around the pool - but this was less of a problem by mid afternoon.

Verified reviewHad 4 days there with my partner, the hotel staff are amazing, very friendly, and hard work. The hotel was really clean, and the room was spacious and modern. The evening dinner was very poor .. very little variety/choice . Quality of meat/fish hit and miss . Not very hot .. noticeable that a lot of guests queued up to go into dinner at 6 .. assume they hoped to get a better meal … we chose to go about 7.30 and were disappointed
