Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe lady at check-in didn’t really speak much english so the process wasn’t really smooth, tho we managed. The second night I could hear television noise from the staff room in front of mine.
The room was just big enough to be comfortable, it was really clean and had everything i needed for my 3 day stay. There wasn’t much noise, the air conditioning was easy to use and worked perfectly. A great feature was the water dispenser in the hall, I never bought a water bottle because I could refill it at the hostel. The location is great, perfect to visit the city. The street is not noisy at all.

GreeceSmall apartment in the heart of the city centre. Many bars and restaurants nearby. The room was very basic but didn't lack anything, so for 1-2 nights it was just fine. The only window had a view on a shared area, so if you wanted privacy you'd have to keep it shut. Also, noise insulation was pretty bad so I could hear the TV from another room playing all night as well as other noises.

TurkeyAll the towels at the hostel should be changed. The backside of the rooms can be larger cause too small to move.
Location and staff were perfect cool. The bed was comfortable. It is so close to the touristic attractions. There is always clean water from the machine both cold and hot.

United KingdomIf I had to be picky some sort of small drawer/cupboard to put clothes in would be nice so you don’t have to keep everything in your suitcase.
The bed was nice and comfortable; the hostel itself was in a perfect location to access the Gran Vía part of Madrid as well as the other main parts of the city due to the close proximity to the transport. Was peaceful at night with the main background noise coming from the main/side streets although that’s to be expected.

United StatesWe stayed in the same building with friends... we were on the 4th floor Airbnb lux apartment and I booked the Hostal, on the 1st floor for them. After we checked them in and went to see the room, the attendant barked at us that guest were not allowed even though he saw us together 20 minutes earlier. i.e. if you want to be able to invite someone to your room, this is not a place for you.
Location!!! Just off the Grand Via... few blocks from all of Madrid sites. Plaza del Sol, Chueca, Retiro, Prado, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Cathedral, Theaters, etc.

Hotel is very central, just off the Gran Via (near Primark). A lot of restaurants in the area as well. We had a room with 2 single beds, the bathroom/shower needs some renovation. They offer to keep your luggage after check out at a charge of Eur5

SingaporeThe hotel is a little difficult to find. There is a hotel side board and then you enter through a gate, but after which you have to walk up the stairs to level one. Note that the passage is pretty dark. There are 2 doors, right and left. There is no sign of hotel name. You have to knock at the door on the right, which is locked. Only if there is someone inside that can hear your knocking. My advice is to indicate your arrival time if you are checking before and after official check in time. The lady at the counter does not speak English but she was friendly. We checked in early and had to store our luggage. The hotel charges 10euros which is expensive.
The room is big, clean, bright and comfortable. The hotel has a water station outside the corridor which is good for unlimited supply of drinking water. Location is very excellent within walking distance to all attractions. It's at the side street to main road of Gran Via and just 4mins walk to main station Sol.
