We loved the people, the place and the food. Marta went above and beyond to make us feel like home. She has been so kind and flexible with our requests. She also took the time to give us advices on restaurant, shops and the local area. We have this place as our favourite and we truly hope to have the opportunity to come back! Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would return again. A couple of minor things to make other guests aware of: 1. You can hear the sound of the motorway from the pool area on certain days 2. A lot of bugs in the garden / outside eating area - so take repellent (we didn’t have any and got bitten quite a bit) although no issues at all within the house itself. 3. Although possible to stay and relax / enjoy without a car (we didn’t have a car) I can see the benefit of having a car. As there is no lunch service (only breakfast and dinner) and it is a bit of a trek to the nearest town if you find yourselves hungry. Otherwise - make sure to fill up on breakfast (which is what we did and it worked fine for us).

Beautiful and tranquil hotel with only a few rooms. The beds are very comfortable and we slept incredibly well for the entire stay. It is a dog friendly hotel, therefore we really enjoyed our stay with our dog. Having her with us by the pool and walking with her in the woods around the property. The breakfast is made up of delicious and fresh local produce and it is definitely worth taking advantage of the dinner option available. Every meal we ate was delicious. I also must mention Anna, the host. Very kind and calm. Everything was done with a smile.

This property was magical, my only issue was that I didn't stay longer. It is truely stunning and relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. I would love to come back here one day and spend a week relaxing and enjoying the wonderful space.

Oh my god. I LOVED everything! Beautiful place. Amazing view. Super comfy bed (we had to take a photo of the mattress because how good it was!). Bread is home made, omelette is home made from eggs from their farm. I mean, there is nothing to be picky about and I desperately trying to invent smth right now. Staff was very very very kind, dog friendly, pool open all night and it’s clean and with light. It was the best trip in my entire life so far. Their dinner was super tasty. We will recommend 100%!! I cannot be more happy than I am now. Really amazing experience! Still remember the taste of the home mad bread from our dinner. Love it!!!

It was our second time at Paratgea and 2 days here always make you feel like you’re on a 2-week-holiday. It’s such a tranquil place combing beautiful nature, the proximity to Montseny and the Maresme coast on the other side and yet it’s only a 30-40 minute drive out of Barcelona. The design of the hotel is so pretty - both inside and outside and gives you enough room and opportunities to relax in private, lie by the pool, take a refreshing swim, sit with a book in the garden, practice some yoga… I genuinely couldn’t recommend Paratgea more! The icing on the cake: their staff is super friendly and professional, service immaculate and the food (both included breakfast and their dinner options) excellent and local. Can’t wait to be back soon!

My stay at Paratgea - Can Canal - could not have been more perfect. I came to disconnect for a weekend, and I left feeling like I had been there for a month! I had the privilege of enjoying the entire house to myself on the first night, and my stay was made even more special as I met the owners and even the architect who designed the property 40 years ago. As an architect myself, it is one of the reasons I chose this property - the design of the house is simply stunning. It is simple, beautiful, elegant and every detail has been thoughtfully considered. First as a family home and later as a rural hotel, you can feel the love which this house has been restored with over the years - it has such a wonderful energy. I travelled with my dog and we were both so kindly welcomed by Anna. She made sure that we had everything we needed, she provided the most delicious food at both breakfast and dinner time - everything ecological and locally produced. She even made me a special meal one evening to cater specifically around a food allergy I have! Anna truly looked after us like members of her own family and is one of the main reasons I will return again and again. The final mention must go to the location - even though the property is in close proximity to the train line and motorway, you feel like you are a million miles from civilisation. I spent each day hiking through the forests surrounding the house to several local landmarks - the scenery is stunning with views to Montseny mountain. In short, this accommodation, the food, and the whole team at Paratgea deserve the maximum rating possible. We will be back soon!
