How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Apart from a mistake on my part it could be easily confused for the apartment next door! However again this was totally my fault!
Apartment was spotless! Great location would highly recommend! Staff were brilliant especially having to deal with me!

Skylight in 2nd bedroom instead of a window but a minor detail once you got used to it wouldn't deter us from booking again as skylight opened & closed
So close to everything & a very stylish apt, we didn't cook in it but looks like it has everything you need

Bin collections start from 6am, especially the glass bin from the hotel across the road.
Location first class, close to all amenities and literally across the road to the best restaurant in the resort.

Only thing I could mention is that there’s construction going on from the neighbouring hotel which you can sometimes hear but hardly an issue 👍
Great location, right on the main strip near shops and the three bay beaches. Property was nice and homely with a great balcony.

The balcony chairs are a bit uncomfortable for a place where you want to do most of your dining outside. It can be noisy if you are a light sleeper.
Super comfortable apartment with plenty of space to stretch out. Great WiFi & water pressure. The location is perfect for the Ironman start and only a few minutes from the beach and grocery. We really enjoyed our stay.

Only minor things really, the balcony chairs aren't that comfortable when sitting for a while, no cushions and the balcony gets very hot in the morning, an umbrella or something similar would be excellent....
The apartment was spotless, very comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, the location was excellent, close to everything. We didn't cook, but looked like everything was there if you wanted to cook....got a lovely gift when leaving. Thank you so much. We will certainly be back!

Lovely appartment spotless Sofia and her husband were very welcoming I would highly recommend this app and we will be going back to stay again nothing was a problem and it is very central to old and new town thanks again can't wait to go back next year

The only negative was the noise of the binmen directly outside our bedroom window in the mornings.
The apartment was perfect. Spotlessly clean and ideal for a family of 4.

There is a bottle bank on the street outside the apartment. Every bar etc uses this from about 11pm to 1am every night. Its pretty loud. The bed was pretty hard too.
The location doesn't get much better. Centre of everything in peurto del carmen

The fact you could not check in till 4pm and there was no facilities to leave your luggage . We had an early flight and had to pull two large suitcases around.We left a day early because we had to check out at 11 a.m., and our flight was not till 7pm, the owners were of no help at all.

there was no air conditioning despite specifically booking for this reason. It was broke when we arrived and it was not fixed until two days before we left so we were left the best part of two weeks in 35+ degree heat with no air conditioning. you cannot open the window in the main bedroom at night as the communal bins for all the local restaurants is directly across the road so all you hear is smashing bottles until 2/3 am every morning. The second bedroom has no window in it only a very small “sky light” which really lets in no fresh air. unfortunately for us we will not return.
