How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Hotel is a bit old.
Location was quite central to the vibrant streets of Madrid, walking distance to the metro and other popular areas within the city. Staff were super friendly and also allowed us to have a late check in and store our luggage after we checked out as our flight was later on in the day.

The air conditioner was poor. The room didn’t cool down very well and was hot.
Close proximity to everything Staff were lovely and helpful Breakfast was excellent and large variety

Room was small so one person couldn't get out of the bed normally. Great for a city trip but not for multiple days

Rooms were quite small and air conditioning was weak.

It gets noisy at night, which makes it difficult to sleep, but that’s something I’ve come to expect in Madrid and a price to pay for staying in the heart of the city.
The location was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was quite good. The staff were really nice as well.

The washbasin at the bathroom wasn’t very comfortable.
Very easy access to the metro and close to Gran Via, easy to walk there. facilities were neatly cleaned.Breakfast was good.

Sought access to bicycles, but there was a apprehension to help out, refered to street bikes
Location was amazing, they also accommodated us arriving earlier than expected. Airport transfer was great.

I'm giving it a 'good' status b/c I picked a 'Small' room which was tiny. If we had a bigger room I would rate it higher, so that was my fault. Do not get the Small room if there is more than one of you. Also, if you want a place on a quiet street, pick another hotel. It was quiet inside, but it was in the middle of a huge outdoor shopping mall, which we didn't care for.
Great breakfast! Great location if you do not mind a very busy street when you walk out the door.

It is not cheap.
We've had a excellent 3 day stay in this hotel. It is very conveniently located near the Sol metro station and next to the El Corte Inglés Preciados department store. Checkin was fast, friendly staff. Room on the 3rd floor was on the smaller size but it was comfortable: good bed, good shower, clean, quiet and wifi was okay. Coffee and tea in the room and free bottles of water. Little balcony above the Calle de Preciados and view on the Sol square. Big tv and I could stream the Le Mans 24h from my tablet to the tv at night. Breakfast was also good: jus 'd orange, coffee and fruit and bacon and eggs. Beautiful old elevator is available. I would definitely choose this hotel if I ever visit Madrid again.

Having supplied a kettle, two mugs would be better than paper cups, we borrowed two from the breakfast area.
Excellent location between Puerta del Sol and Gran Via (a short walk from public transport on arrival). In a shopping district near El Corte Ingles department store, no noisy bars, so very quiet at night. 20 minutes walk to the Royal Palace or Prado, we walked everywhere during our stay. Our double room was a good size (small doubles have the bed against the wall), spotlessly clean. Room had a kettle, but 2 mugs would have been useful. Excellent breakfast with wide choice of hot and cold, savoury and sweet items. Staff spoke English and were very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I wasn’t there long enough.
The hotel was very central to all attractions etc and easy to walk too. The rooms had everything we could possibly need and breakfast was a lovely surprise. Staff were very helpful throughout but Laura on reception wen5 the extra mile.
