Perfect location, around one kilometer from the magnificent beach. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. There was possibility to eat breakfast and dinner in a hotel restaurant.

The air con broke down… Room furnishing rather Spartan but comfortable enough for a dinner holiday stay where you will not be spending very long in your room anyway.

Good location in the centre of the village - and yet quiet at night as room faced the back I liked the marble-walled bathroom. Very generous wardrobe space in the room, good lighting for bedtime reading, comfortable bed, nice cotton bedlinen . Nice to have an all-day bar-restaurant for whenever you wanted a drink or a snack

We were disappointed that despite hotel promotes to have parking available for its guests, that was not the case for us. When we arrived and saw the parking full, we asked at the reception, and the only advice we got was wait until someone leaves...

I was given a room "upgrade" when I checked in. Although I had a little balcony with the upgrade, I was at the end of the hallway and had very poor Internet connectivity. Also, the radiator in the bedroom didn't work. I went to reception to let them know and an employee from the bar came to my room and confirmed the heat was not working. I thought she would call someone to fix it but I guess she expected me to do that. I ended up pulling the covers off of the second bed to keep myself warm at night.

Beautiful hotel right on the Camino. Nice room. The hotel let me check-in early which I appreciated as a pilgrim walking the Camino.

Restaurant wasn’t open during the weekend when we visited; place was in darkness when we arrived early evening & had to phone someone to come & check us in; rooms a bit spare.

Clean & comfortable rooms; peaceful; located in a nice little town with a good selection of restaurants; easy access to the city, the beach, & the mountains.

The two male managers appeared to be under a lot of stress and were not friendly or helpful on check in or subsequently. Not sure what was going on and it was hard not to take it personally! On a couple of evenings the restaurant was not open for dinner and there was nothing to tell us this. We were disappointed as were other guests - some Americans walking the Camino were also annoyed as obviously you don't necessarily want to go looking around for an alternative restaurant at night. There is no info in the rooms as you might expect or at reception - it would be so good to have an informative noticeboard or information in rooms. If you want to eat in the restaurant then MAKE A BOOKING - we were told we did not need to but then it was so busy we did not get served with even drinks for over 40 minutes. The food is excellent in the restaurant and we would have eaten there more often if it had been a) open and b) the service had been better. Breakfast is sparse by British standards. No fridge in room which would have been helpful.

Very clean room - we had three double rooms for 7 nights. Quite spacious and light and cleaned every day. Spa bath in room. Excellent location. General staff - cleaners and restaurant staff at breakfast - were really lovely. Parking usually available but can get busy. Food in restaurant is very good but MAKE A RESERVATION and don't believe them if they say not to bother! Lunch is especially good value and therefore can be very busy. Excellent bakery over the road - highly recommended. Nearby Beach - Galiziano - is lovely but watch for litter and we did see several jellyfish including a Portuguese Man of War which is dangerous.

It’s a beautiful building and a perfectly fine place to stay. It’s clean and well kept. The reason I’m not giving this a higher rating is that our room and hallway just had no real warmth to them. Some more soft finishes might help make the place feel less institutional and also dampen sound a bit more.

Breakfast offerings need to be better and made obvious - it was all a bit hit & miss.

Excellent location to overnight near Santander with very easy access and parking on site. Staff very friendly and helpful. The El Pajar restaurant in the town is part of the same business and serves truly excellent food - I had the best bit of hake (merluza) I'd had in ages, very good cooking! And it was super value. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The rooms are outdated, mouldy, and there was this damp smell that we couldn't get read of even when the window was open all day. The shower was very uncomfortable to use as the drain was blocked and the shower head was old and almost impossible to adjust in the right angle. There was no Kettle or coffee/tea in the room. The coffee at the restaurant is not the best. Bring your own body wash /shampoo. It's good for a night but I would not recommend for a long stay. The room we stayed in looked nothing like the photos available on booking.com.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. We loved the location & that the staff members had a smile on their face every time they served us. The building looks perfect on the outside, beautiful garden!

If you like your hotels with a side of fat-shaming, this is the place for you. On check-in, the receptionist took one look at my passport and commented—unprompted—that I looked “a lot thinner” in the photo compared to now. I found this not only rude and offensive, but completely unnecessary. I’m still waiting for an apology from the hotel. The room itself was pleasant enough, but unfortunately let down by several issues: the shower didn’t drain properly, the air conditioning wasn’t working, and our keycard stopped working entirely. Worse still, all staff had left the premises by 5pm. When we reported the faulty key, we were told to retrieve a master key left behind the reception desk—this key could access every room in the hotel. That’s a serious security concern and a completely unacceptable approach to guest safety. A disappointing experience overall—poor service, unprofessional conduct, and serious lapses in security.
